I’ve tried so many products for our toddler. Nothing seems to give enough moisture. A friend recommended this line for doing his twists. So I purchased the shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and the coil custard. (Soufflé hasn’t arrived yet) First, it smells great. Other reviews said it was too strong but I don’t think it is. Second, all the ingredients are allergy friendly and safe for our little guy. (I was very careful not to get it near his face, so I can’t speak to how gentle it is for eyes….but I’m assuming that’s common sense). The wash was good. The detangling conditioner provided better slip than other products I’ve used. Once I started to rinse the conditioner out I noticed how wet his hair still looked. Normally, once you rinse him, his hair drops the water very quickly. But this is the point I noticed how well his hair absorbed this conditioner. His hair actually laid down with little waves for about a minute. After that, I generously applied the leave-in. This left his hair able to stay damp while I put on his lotion and got him dressed. Normally his hair would be totally dry at this point and I’d have to mist him down to do his hair. (Even with using a ton of leave-in from other lines) I was hoping the Twisting Soufflé would arrive with the other products, but it hasn’t yet. So I went ahead and did his little twists with only the coil custard tonight. I’m very happy I ordered this for his type 4 hair. (2 different curl patterns). I spent a decent amount on Carols Daughters but the cream just sat on the hair and didn’t soak in and the milk just doesn’t give enough moisture. (We’ve also tried 3 other higher end lines that are safe for kids and his hair just wasn’t having it.) So we were struggling to keep the hair of an active toddler moisturized. But I think we finally found a winner! I can’t wait to see how he looks in the morning when his silk cap comes off. ... show more

This by far is the best shampoo I've ever used! It smells SO good and feels so soft! My hair has never looked or felt so good! Honestly this product line can be used for straight or curly hair. My hair is naturally curly, but I prefer to wear it straight. I have this shampoo, conditioner, and the leave in conditioner of the same line. I highly recommend you buy this. Mielle shampoo and conditioner detangles really curly type 4 hair without losing the curly texture. And it leaves hair very hydrated after washing out. The only thing I dislike is the pump on the bottles; my daughter has really thick hair and needs lots of product on it but only a little bit comes out of the pump at a time. ... show more

October 5, 2023 UPDATE: Previously I had given this shampoo four stars because in spite of all its great qualities it dried out my hair a teeny tiny bit. But then I discovered when I used it with Baja Basics Hair Growth Elixir Rice Water detangling hydrating spray leave in hair conditioner, my hair became lustrous and just within two weeks of using the rice water conditioning spray hair, about 1/4 inches long hair sprouted all over my head! The baby hairs were noticeable in the big ALMOST bald spot I had in the crown area from wearing a sunhat everyday for 15 years. Yes, the hat stopped hair growth in my experience. Within four weeks the combination of this shampoo and the Baja Basics rice water hair growth conditioner caused the baby hairs to grow to half an inch length. I wanted people to know what happened as a result of the hair growth conditioner and this shampoo so I left a review about this shampoo on the hair growth conditioner/elixir on that site. Then I thought there might be people here on this shampoo site that are struggling with thinning hair so I am leaving information about that hair growth elixir here. I feel truly fortunate to come across two super stars products that work exceptionally well together. And to top it off both products are really reasonably priced. The Baja Basics hair growth elixir rice water hydration spray that is a leave in conditioner is only $14.95 for 4 fluid ounces, The ingredients are spectacular! Rice water, rose water, glycerin, D panthenol (wonderful, gentle for hair growth), Vitamin B5, Vitamin C, aloe vera, sorbic acid, MSM. Vitamins superb for hair growth and health. They worked for me beyond my wishes, I know you will benefit from them, also. Good health and beauty to you! First review is below *************** Because there is no sticky residue to weigh the hair downI, this shampoo gives superb body. Why I am not giving it 5 stars is because it dries out the hair a little bit. I will include this shampoo in my routine hair care, but I am still on the search for a shampoo that will clean well without drying out my hair. Lathered up well not a heavy shampoo and I didn't need a conditioner. I only wash my hair a couple of times a week and the c urls stayed curly only had to wet my hair.
