I have a medium length 4c afro that I'm trying to grow out and learn how to style. I always look for the best natural stylers for my hair, without alcohol or mineral oils. Women always rave about the Mielle products, and I simply don't get it. Definitely not after using this product. I just washed, conditioned and styled my hair. As I applied it in sections, my hair didn't feel moisturized at all. No slip, very slick, and the smell of ginger is very strong. As I used my diffuser, my hair began to feel sticky and look very dull. I felt like re-washing my hair, but didn't want to stress it too much. I'll sleep with my silk scarf and see what it's like in the morning. Awful product. I think I may try Miss Jessie's Honey Curls for my next wash and style. Who knows, that may be in a few days! ... show more

i've tried the deep conditioner from this line and my hair loved it so, I decided to give this a chance and i'm glad I did! I usually don't use too many gels but this honestly feels like a cream and gel mixed together. I love the smell and it makes my hair super soft. I use this gel before doing my Bantu twist out. I use it after applying Mielle Moisturizing Hair milk and Coil Sculpting Custard. You only need a little to coat your strands after moisturizing with the other two products mentioned. It is not going to hold anything down immediately , when you first put it in your hair, but after applying it to your bantu nots or twists and letting it set to dry in a scarf for a couple of hours or overnight gives it a firm-medium hold the next morning. ... show more

This is my other holy grail, I wash and dc once a week then define my curls with the King of Gels Camille Rose Curl Maker then I use this throughout the week to refresh and re-pop my curls. The ginger smell is a bit strong and the consistency is runny, not as thick as I would like for a gel but it does elongate my 4c/4b curls and I like the smell of ginger. the hold is not strong but its a good medium hold

If you have type4 hair this isn't really for you. I have 4b hair and it gives a very very light hold. Nothing like eco etc. However, the products are good and moisturizing and I care about the health of my hair more than I do a strong hold so I will keep using
