Just a quick review of these kennels. We have several pets and have used these for many years. They make a terrific enclosure for our bunny. One is enough to make a nice run where he lives most of the time. We connect two of them when it is time for Houdini to have a good romp. He can binky and run, all while staying away from harmful things like electric cords. We recently bought two more of these to connect up for our senior dog. They work very nicely, both indoors and out, and make a safe space for her to sleep and hang out. We really like how they fold up for storage between uses or when we need to clean up the area. These kennels are sturdy and fairly simple to hook together. They also come with the hooks. I recommend them for your pets! (I put 4 stars for fold and assemble just because they CAN get a little unwieldy. Especially when extended to full length. Also, a bit of caution whilst folding up will avoid any pinched fingers. ) I will try to add some photos soon.

I foster dogs and I needed a way to provide an enclosed, safe space that was bigger than a crate. This fulfilled the need nicely. I got the gold zinc color because it was cheaper for some reason and I didn't care what color it was, and I think it looks just fine. I like that it provides a decent sized space, is tall enough (I got the 36") to work for both small and large dogs, has a door for easy entry, and can be used indoors and outdoors. It comes with corner stabilizers and ground anchors that would be used outdoors (basically allows you to anchor it to your lawn). I've only used it indoors so far, and it stays upright well. I also appreciate that I can hook it to a crate or hook up a couple of them to really provide a large area for the dog. Really easy to use, has proven to be pretty sturdy, and it's doing everything I need it to do. There's no assembly, per se; you just put it in the configuration you want and use the provided thumb snaps to secure the ends together and you got you an enclosure.

Crates give my frenchie severe anxiety so we decided to try this instead and it works great. It made potty training so much easier. It is easy to fold up and move throughout the house or take with us wherever we go. I love that it is large enough for his food and water bowls plus his bed and a potty pad. It can be shaped to fit in several different size and shape areas. It's easy to clean and can be folded up to store away when we don't need it. I have also used it to let my bunnies and ducklings out in the yard and it works great for that too. A twin size fitted sheet fits perfectly over the top as a sun shade or to keep hawks out.

Pros: - Solid construction and weight - Fully Collapsible to allow for easy storage or travel - TWO door latches to better protect against bends from your dog pushing against just the top or bottom of the door - Fully painted and coated without exposed rough edges, etc - Easy to customize shape of exercise pen to allow for multiple setups for your particular room or purpose Cons: - Included hardware is slightly flimsy (the plastic edge supports can pop off fairly easily with enough pressure) - Welding clamps that connect consecutive panels provide some sharp edges that could potentially cause injury Personal Experience: I have a rat terrier puppy and wanted to find a quality and reasonably priced exercise pen to create what I consider to be the perfect indoor setup for a puppy still learning to be crate trained and potty trained. Essentially, I wanted my puppy to be able to stay in a safe and confined space indoors during times when I am unable to be at home, and for use for travel when we make our frequent road trips to visit our extended family's home. But I'll describe this a little more later, and I have included pictures to show this setup. First impression: Our puppy is expected to be approximately 35lbs, so I purchased the 36" size just in case. After doing some research, I found a couple of comparable models that had similar measurements, features, and were reviewed highly, but ended up deciding to get the MidWest Exercise Pen because of the overall strong reviews and relatively reasonable price. It came in a pretty flat box and was extremely easy to setup. The exercise pen arrives collapsed (obviously), but is already assembled when shipped. All I had to do was un-collapse it and stand it up to the shape I desired. It includes plastic edge supports that hook over successive panels to reinforce the structure (think of it as a plastic guard that prevents two consecutive panels from collapsing past a certain angle). It is not too heavy, so it is definitely manageable to travel with as well. The coating and paint covers all areas and I did not see any exposed steel or rough edges (unlike some other reviews). I also particularly like that it has two door latches to ensure that the door is not bent from your dog pushing on either the top or bottom of the door. Also, the design allows the exercise pen to easily be customized to form different shapes to accommodate the space in your room (i.e., octagon, large rectangle, etc). After using the exercise pen for approximately a month, I am still very satisfied with all aspects of it. However, my biggest complaint is that the hardware used and the welding clamps (used to hold consecutive panels together) are not as sturdy as I initially thought. The plastic edge supports can pop off fairly easily if enough pressure is applied, and the welding clamps are a little rough and provide some sharp edges that could hurt an unsuspecting puppy. However, I have not had any particular issue with either of these things since my puppy does not push against the walls, nor has she been injured by the welding clips. I'm just making observations. Conclusion: I am very satisfied with the MidWest Exercise Pen and do not regret the purchase at all. It has quality construction, it is easy to "assemble" and collapse for easy storage and travel, it is easily adjustable to form customizable shapes, and all at a reasonable price. My only minor complaints are that the included plastic edge supports are rather flimsy and the welding clamps provide some sharp edges that could potentially cause injury. **I also purchased the AmazonBasics Single Door Crate to create what I consider the perfect indoor setup for puppies when you're away from home (the MidWest crate should work the same). I position the crate so that its door faces inside of the pen, and I have the pen encapsulate to each side of the crate door with the rest of the crate protruding out of the pen (the picture shows the setup). The Exercise Pen is secured to the crate by simply using your standard swivel keychain hooks (these actually came with the Exercise Pen). This setup allows my puppy to sleep and enjoy her crate, but also walk around a safe enclosed area when I am not home. I also leave a puppy pad in the far corner of the pen area to allow my puppy to potty there if she really needs to. I have included a few pictures of the set-up =)

This was much bigger than I expected. It was easy to assemble, covers a huge area so my dogs have plenty of room. It’s also big enough for my rabbit to live in. Currently using it around my Xmas tree to keep it safe for the holidays. Definitely getting my money’s worth with this product.

I love how we fold this up and move it between our yard and living room so our puppy can always be near us. When company is over, I prefer to have her in her exercise pen so she can interact with others but avoid nipping at ankles while she is still learning her manners. We have a crate we no longer use because it comes with the plastic tray on the bottom for easy cleaning. Her toenails scratching on this tray woke me up several times per night so we did away with the crate and instead fold this exercise pen to a rectangle shape the same size as her old crate. It works perfectly overnight. Same idea as crate training without the irritating sound of toenails on plastic. Very versatile. Would recommend this exercise pen to anyone.

Bought for my puppy and IT WAS THE BEST IDEA!!! She has been using it for 7 weeks and she is now 11 weeks old. It keeps her out of the way when things are going on in the house and is extremely portable. Use it as a gate as well to keep all the dogs out of the dining room.
