  • Great Dehumidifier for Basement Use Great Dehumidifier for Basement Use
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
I've been using this Midea dehumidifier in my basement for several weeks, and it has worked very well. It pulls a surprising amount of moisture out of the air and keeps the humidity at a comfortable level. The built-in pump is a huge advantage because I don't have to constantly empty the water bucket. The unit is easy to set up, relatively quiet, and the controls are straightforward. I also like that it automatically maintains the humidity level I set. Since installing it, the basement feels much drier and more comfortable. Overall, this is a reliable dehumidifier with excellent performance for the price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to control humidity in a basement or large room. ... show more

  • Total lifesaver for our smelly basement! Total lifesaver for our smelly basement!
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
Our basement was always super humid and smell so bad, and we eventually realized it actually was growing mold down there, especially since it stank whenever it rains. We looked around for a long time before finally finding this dehumidifier, and it’s been amazing. It looks super nice and smooth, and after running it just for a few hours, the bucket was already almost full and the air felt way better! Plus, it isn’t loud at all when it runs. It's awesome because you can empty the water two ways: either pull the bucket out by the handle, or use the built-in pump and hose to send it straight into a drain so you don't have to carry anything. The wheels on the bottom make it easy to place it wherever we need. Plus, we can control the humidity and other settings right from our phones, and share the app with other family members , and it's really easy to use. Since it filters the air while it runs, the whole basement just feels a lot fresher. ... show more

  • Effective, efficient, and impressive
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
Power washing the concrete floor of my basement created a temporary humid climate. This device reduced the humidity to a normal level in a matter of hours. It was easy to set up and the wireless app was a huge bonus. It’s quiet, efficient, and highly reliable. So happy with the device and the price and well worth the investment. ... show more

  • Loud But Effective
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
I purchased the Midea 50-Pint Dehumidifier with Pump Included and, so far, my biggest complaint is the noise. The unit only offers two fan speeds, and the choice feels like loud or very loud. Even on the lower setting, it is difficult to ignore, making it a poor fit for bedrooms, living areas, home offices, or anywhere people regularly spend time. While I have not used it long enough to fully evaluate its dehumidification performance, the noise level alone significantly impacts the overall experience. If you’re considering this unit, I would only recommend it for an unoccupied space such as a basement, garage, utility room, or storage area where the sound won’t be a constant annoyance. If noise is a concern, you may want to look at other options before purchasing this one. ... show more

  • Terrible pump design, great customer service
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
If I hadn't got it on sale for $155 I'd be sending it back. Dehumidification works well but the pump function is horrible. The pick-up for the pump drops down from above the collection bucket and only draws off the couple inches of water at the top of the bucket which means after the pump cycles the bucket will still be 3/4 full. What little water the pick-up can reach takes forever to be pumped out. Also, because of the drop down water pick-up the collection bucket is rather temperamental to re-insert after manually emptying the bucket. If you're looking for a dehumidifier because you need one with self emptying pump function this is not the one you want. UPDATE** 3/24 Customer service reached out to address my issues with the unit. Rep says bucket should be emptying at about 75% of the bucket during a pump cycle and my unit is likely defective. I was sent a replacement unit but haven't yet been able to test it out since the humidity has been staying low the past few days. Changing from 2 stars to 4 stars for the great customer service, if the new unit performs well I'll be back to update to 5 stars! ... show more

I was quite pleased with this very effective and well-designed dehumidifier as it ran quietly, removed plenty of water from the air, and made our basement a comfortable place for me to work. This unit does a great job in lowering the humidity level in our basement area. The unit is easy to set up !I highly recommend this unit. ... show more

  • Read before buying. Read before buying.
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
The Midea dehumidifier, model MAD50P1AWS-A, is a mess to use! So much so, that I am returning it after less than a week of use. Read the other negative reviews; they are spot on. The bucket is a TERRIBLE design! There are multiple warnings (pictured) about how easy it is to spill and another warning not to bang it when replacing the bucket, because they know it is hard to remove and replace. When dumping the water, there is no spout or obvious way to dump it. I have tried every way and unless you are dumping it in a tub or outside your home, water will spill all over. Better have a towel ready! (see photo) If you tip it too far, water will pour out in 4 places. Was hoping to repurpose the water for house plants. As a work-around I bought a clean 5 gallon bucket. Figured I'd let it run until the internal bucket was full, then turn the pump on for a few minutes and let it drain into the 5 gal bucket. Nope! The pump only drains about 1 inch off the top. Also, the bucket is supposed to be cleaned every 2 weeks. Look at all those "nooks and crannies"! How are you going to clean in there? As an aside about dehumidifiers in general: the unit DID pull gallons of water out of the air in my full finished basement and lowered the humidity, but it raised the temperature by 2 degrees which made it feel less comfortable in my opinion unless I turned the A/C down 2 degrees. ... show more
