  • Great design, working perfectly! Everything included, directions easy to understand.
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft.
I purchased this renewed Midea dehumidifier with a pump so I don't have to worry about the angle of the drain hose. My cellar floor is so unlevel and my sump hole is actually up hill from the rest of the floor. This solves that! It's been working flawlessly since I got it. In 1 day it had the humidity from 85% down to 50%. Using the pump, just turn the pump on. It'll run when it needs to. No having to check on it. The controls are easy to use, just a bit hard to read for old eyes. Actually used the directions to figure out what button did what. It doesn't make much noise, just a fan noise when it's running. Since I'm using the pump for drainage, there's no having to dump the bucket all the time. This also has wifi capability, although I haven't set that up yet. Directions to do that are straight forward. This is well designed, everything was included. Quick to set up. This dehumidifier is definitely worth the cost. Get one! Renewed saves you money and it's working fantastic! All in all, when I need another one, I'll look at the Midea brand first. ... show more

  • Great so far
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft.
The 50 pt unit is a BEAST. Check the dimensions to make sure you know what you're getting. It's hefty too. Seems heavier than its listed weight but glad it seems durable. As for me, I had a recent roof leak and a landlord that's content to leave the ceiling saturated after a repair. Got the 50 pt refurbished model and it's been great at removing the moisture and smell from the house. It has an ozone/ion feature which is great, but I recommend only using it when not home or when in a different room. Ion generators are not really healthy to be around, I'd recommend googling it if that's news to you. Overall, it seems to work really well. I like the pump. Setting it for a humidity level seems to work well, but I have experience with humidity sensors, they can be really wonky so I don't expect 100% accuracy with anything with a humidity sensor. My favorite thing about this so far is that you can control with your phone BUT you can do it over the local network. I had to use and sign up on the android app to get it on my wifi, but once I did I was able to integrate this into home assistant and turn off internet access on the router for the humidifier. I hate giving 'smart' devices free reign on my network and access to the open internet, so I love that I can restrict access and yet still control w/ my phone, and stuff. Kudos to Midea. That's pretty rare. By the way, I thought this was missing the wheels when I bought it but they were inside the water tank. I didn't notice until I went to empty it for the first time. Much easier rolling this monster around than carrying it. ... show more

  • Very disappointed with this
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft.
This worked for about 8 months with the pump working fine to flow the water into my basement drain. Unfortunately, it no longer works and the tank fills up instead. This is a major annoyance since it has to be emptied daily and I am not always down my basement to do this. Customer service wouldn’t help since this was purchased as a refurbished item so that was also a huge negative. Very bummed since I wanted a draining unit that I didn’t have to worry about and now less than a year later it is only usable as a unit I have to constantly check on. That annoyance makes this a dud of an item. Combined with the lackluster customer service I can only give this one star. Do not buy refurbished! You are out in the cold if it breaks. ... show more

  • BUY THIS ONE ;)
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft.
I work as a DSP and a lot of the group homes I have been to have this exact dehumidifier. I've emptied this out so many times at the homes before I went and bought my own. My apartment was sitting at 68% and this took it down to 45% in a matter of hours. The tank fills up very fast because this machine is just that amazing. The only downsides are that it did arrive a little dirty, but that's ok. It is fairly easy to clean with a rag. The second downside (the reason is has 4 stars instead of 5) is that it makes a whistling sound. I determined that this whistle was very likely from the dented grills in the back of the machine. This can potentially be remedied by buying an HVAC grill comb to straighten the grills just like you would do with dented grills in an AC unit. All in all, if you want an amazing machine that does what it's supposed to, this is it! I would very much suggest you buy this one as it works. (This contains a small amount of refrigerant with a compressor. Thats what makes this work so well!) ... show more

  • First time with Amazon refurbished.
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft.
So I’ve been looking at this model and looking at it again for my basement crawlspace. I needed one with a pump on it. But new the price was just know than I wanted to spend. My old one was working OK. It’s just gotten louder over the years and you have to empty the bucket. When this model popped up on Amazon refurbished in excellent condition I jumped on it. It was about half the price of new. I did buy the extended warranty. Easy setup. Nice and quiet and smooth running. Hose is nice and long so it could be routed across the ceiling to where is needed in the 4 foot crawlspace. And I love how it has the app so I can monitor it with ouch going down in the crawlspace. This has way more capacity than I needed for a 600 sq ft by 4 foot high crawl space. But the return air from the crawlspace and the house are mixed through the hvac so it will help keep the house dryer as well. So far I like it. Hose just has a press in connection. Let it sit for 30 minutes upright to make sure all the refrigerant has drained out of the coils since it was delivered laying flat. It came with the 4 original wheels. Only evidence that it has been used is indications that there had been water in the drain bucket. Other than that it was perfect in new packaging and all packaged like it was new. So far I am pleased. Shall see if it really does what I need. ... show more

  • Noisy and generates 100 degree Fahrenheit blown heat
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft.
Very noisy. Drowns out tv, and distracting about as loud as the whole house furnace blower motor which is literally the other side of the wall from it. Generates 100 degree blown air as essentially it is an air conditioner of sorts, extracts water from air but has a rotating cylinder fan that actually increases the room temperature probably from a hot condenser unit and competes with our house air conditioner’s effectively. The house has to run longer because the amount of heat the dehumidifier generates aside it makes the room it’s located noticeably warmer than other rooms being cooled. The length of the included hose for use with the pump is not long enough to move the unit far away from people in living space because of it needs to be in close proximity to a drain if you don’t want to manually empty the tank. This unit is so noisy it affects sleep. May have to move it elsewhere where another drain to avoid noise but then it wouldn’t be central to the overall house and likely then wouldn’t benefit sleeping areas. ... show more

  • Happy with it
Size: 4,500 Sq. Ft.
I have owned four Midea dehumidifiers prior to this one. This is my favorite so far. It has a small bucket, so I recommend this model for people who plan to use the drain or pump feature in order to avoid emptying the bucket frequently. As a refurbished unit, it is a pretty good value for one with the pump feature. No auto-defrost but from what I understand that feature is only necessary if you are operating the dehumidifier in an area that is below 60 degrees (which does not apply to me). The main improvement on this model vs other ones is the noise -- the fan is certainly noticeable at 57 decibels, but at least it is consistent. Previous models that I have had would make a variety of clunking, droning, and fan noises as the fan, compressor, and/or pump kicked in. If it's in your living room, all these different noises can get pretty distracting after a while. The manufacturer seems to have solved that issue with this model -- the main noise is from the fan, which is either on or off. I really appreciate this improvement because I have it running 24-7 in my living space with the pump activated. It does have a quirk where it cuts off at the target humidity level, then the humidity number starts to count up to around 62 and then it turns on again and the number drops immediately. My room humidity obviously did not increase that much in a three minutes, so I think it has to do with the location of the sensor. Bad design maybe but the point is that it successfully keeps my living space between 45 and 50 percent humidity, which is my target so I just ignore the number on the machine. I use the SmartHome app and like it -- you can check the humidity level and turn the unit and pump on and off. Lastly I would say that this dehumidifier is a relatively compact, lightweight and attractive unit compared to others than I have owned. It sits fairly low to the ground and is not intrusive visually. Hopefully it will be durable -- I will lower my review if it breaks in what I would consider an unreasonable amount of time. ... show more
