I’ve always liked the Midea brand; almost all the air conditioners in my home are Midea units. For the past couple of summers, I used a portable AC from a cheaper brand, but by last year, it stopped cooling and could only function as a fan—plus, it was loud and drove up my electricity bill significantly. It just wasn't worth it! Since I have a large space, I needed a more powerful unit, and this one fits the bill perfectly. I set it up in my living room, which is about 500 square feet. even though it wasn't extremely hot today, the room cooled down in just 15 minutes! I imagine it would take about 20–25 minutes on a hotter day. It isn't whisper-quiet, but the noise level is acceptable for a living room. Installation was a breeze—I finished the whole process in 15 minutes! My only concern is that I hope it doesn't stop cooling prematurely like my previous portable AC did. We'll see! ... show more

This portable air conditioner is seriously impressive. It cools incredibly fast—after just a short time, my bedroom feels noticeably cooler and more comfortable. The wheels are also surprisingly smooth. They roll even more smoothly than the wheels on my suitcase. You can tell from my video how easy it is to move around. Honestly, it’s so smooth that I almost want to play with it like a toy. Its performance is on a completely different level compared with other portable air conditioners I’ve used. I’ve tried several portable units and window ACs before, and this one is definitely among the best in terms of cooling power. Installation was also very simple, much easier than a window unit. I am very disappointed in the cooling power of this model. After spending nearly $700.00 for the unit, I still purchased window kit to vent the unit plus paid a handyman to install it. The unit barely cools a 400 square foot room. Waste of money. I would return both purchases. but, it is installed & the boxes are gone. I just blew 1,000.00 by the time I paid for everything. Tried it on a 400 sqft room and it wasn’t cooling at all then moved it to a 200 sqft room and same issue, I have a whynter same capacity that is able to cool that room down to 65 in minutes. The compresor was running for hours and the room was cool down to 70 when the temperature outside was 73, it ran all night nonstop. Maybe the unit I got was defective… but looking at the other reviews I would suggest you go for a different brand/model. ... show more

the old AC at my home broke down after not using it for two years.so i bought this midea instead. i love it so much. it's super engery efficient. has grear power and uses that dual pipe cooling system. one for air intake and other for air outlet. it cools down very quickly. i usually just run this ac and cool down two rooms perfectly.installation is so easy. just hand it on the window and making easy to move another room.wifi for temperature control. nice to buy. ... show more

This helped take the humidity out of large living room, but it is louder than we anticipated it on being. Also for a standard width window you’ll have to cut the window insert down quite a bit. Otherwise works fine for us.

As summer is here, I got this portable air conditioner to move between my bedroom and living room. It is easy to setup with hose and window kit. The hose is pretty small so it fits small windows too. The remote control is a plus to control without getting up. It is light and moves around with ease. The app works great to start and adjust before I get home. It cools down the rooms quickly. I wish I could say that this dual hose with inverter unit is worth the investment, but I haven't been able to use it yet. I feel misled. The minimum product specifications listed online seemed to indicate that the window vent kit could fit my hung windows without a problem. Instead, I opened the manual and learned installation is a DIY project that requires sawing the window kit to shorten it to fit my window. For the record, the main piece for the hose adaptors is 28 inches wide out of the box. When you want relief from extreme heat, the last thing you want to deal with is a complicated AC installation. Having multiple sizes for the main piece of the window vent kit would have been a kind gesture; a small piece for narrow windows and an optional longer main piece for longer windows. A friend was kind enough to loan me one of his spare portable AC's that had a window kit that fit my window without requiring additional work. Once I trim the kit for this model and get it installed, I might revisit this review. UPDATE: Once I acquired the tools needed to adjust the window vent kit assembly and installation were simple enough. On "Auto", the unit wasn't whisper quiet as it became a workhorse to cool the open concept area I purchased it for. I was comfortable within an hour on a night when the temperature hovered in the low 80's. Having oscillating fan to blow the air around helped. Nothing can beat central air or a mini split, but I am positive this unit will serve my family well on any hot days in the future. I still have to learn the full set of features, remote and app usage. I've adjusted my previous rating now that I have been able to actually use it. ... show more
