I purchased a Media 6000 BTU air conditioner in May 2022. Used it a time or two that summer. Then in June of 2023 while camping the over flow drain connection broke. I called Media to get a replacement part. I spoke to a lady that put me on hold several minutes and when she came back she asked me when did I buy the machine, and I told her May, 2022. She asked me to send her proof of purchase and pictures of the broken part, which I did. I waited a few days and then called back for an update on getting the part. Boy was I surprised when I was told they would be refunding my money in full for the AC, and I could purchase a new one. I knew the AC was out of the one year warranty period and I never expected them to refund the purchase price in full. The few times we used the machine it did a good job in the high 90s Texas summer heat and we will continue to buy Media products. Their a stand up company. ... show more

The item was missing the window piece when received. Amazon no longer carred this specific unit, and was not able to send the missing part. Our only option was to box up the item and return it. I reached out to the company directly and they were able to ship the missing item within a week. Kudos to Midea and their customer service! The only downside is an mid-level buzzing sound from the compressor. It is expected and not overly irritating. It works for a college dorm room and my child said the sound is not intrusive and drowns out the ambient noise while sleeping.

If you live in a humid area you're going to be dumping this thing multiple times a day or a 4 gallon bucket daily. I got tired of waking up to completely soaked towels so I opted for a mop bucket to drain into. It managed to completely fill and over spill today in under 24h, I'm so done with this stupid machine. Trust me when I tell you a window unit is 1000x less work. At least you only have to labor twice a year, putting it in & taking it out. This thing requires daily labor. If you still require a portable - make sure it's certified to properly evaporate water. Other Cons: It doesn't tell you the room temperature unless you switch it to fan only mode. It's terrible at regulating the temperature in the room. When I set it to 68f it just goes full blast until I freeze to death. It doesn't come with proper protection in the box, you can see that from other posts. Pros: It looks nice. More Cons: The awful smells every time it cycles and starts warm.
