    • Satisfied with a tablet e-reader plus
I got this refurbished Microsoft Surface Pro 7, 2-in-1 with the keyboard-cover and I am pretty satisfied with it. I primarily wanted it as an e-book reader and tablet. At these roles it is quite satisfactory. You have to balance weight with screen real estate with a tablet, and the weight was worth the relatively large screen for me. But this is also a fully functional PC, and it with a keyboard (the matched keyboard cover is quite adequate) it works well for writing email, documents, and reasonable spreadsheeting. The problem is that at this price-point the 128gb SSD is really a constraint (although I did add a 1TB microSD), and the limited storage and dated CPU with just 4 cores make it a poor candidate for a programmer compiling source code, running virtual guest machines (fortunately I have other machines for that) or gaming (which I don't do ... because I get addicted and go to work without a shower or sleep). All of those were expected, what I am disappointed with is that the battery seems to stay charged for only about 70 percent of what Microsoft promised on a new Surface Pro 7 rather than the minimum of 80 percent promised in the product's Amazon "catalog" page. Other disappointments are that the CPU and memory are soldered in and can't be upgraded later, and I think, but I'm not sure, the same is true of the SSD. When it comes time to swap out the battery, that will have to be done by a professional technician. (I always take my stuff to a shop anyway. I'm all thumbs when working inside a computer.) All in all, it mostly met my expectations and it performs my intended mission. I'm happy. Now if my budget could only accommodate a newer, more powerful 2-in-1 PC (or if there were a competing Mac running OS-X, not iOS). ... show more

No need to spend a fortune on a brand new, latest version of the Surface Pro. I used a Pro 3 I found online for CHEAP for several years and even with the Atom processor it did the job for me for a long time. I decided it was time for an upgrade and I needed/wanted more horses under the hood. This thing is no Mach3 Mustang, but it'll do for the basic needs I have with a laptop/tablet. It came in pristine condition -- no marks, scratches, blemishes visible on the case or TypeCover. The charger cable looks brand new. The screen is very vibrant and clear. I do see a little bit of ghosting, which can be typical of these after a refurb, but not a concern for now. The price was a bit higher than my previous Surface Pro, but overall not too bad. It's do-able considering what it is. I'm overall happy with it and appreciate the seller's quick shipping, too! ... show more

I love the idea of getting a great tablet for an awesome price. The problem is that this was definitely not in like new / refurbished / excellent condition. The screen has multiple issues, dark / light spots from pretty significant burn in is the most obvious, but once you start using the keyboard there are frequent issues where the touchpad doesn't work correctly. The device is in great condition and the customer service was outstanding. The quality of the device was great though I had to return it because the performance didn't fit my needs I definitely would have kept it otherwise. Worth the buy!
