Kind & gently control a persistent dog! Works for training & walking as good as a metal probe color but it avoids the spinal & esophageal damage that the metal prongs cause! It is made very strong & is NOT meant to be a tag collar, its a training tool & walking device for dogs that need extra control, more communication, and is GREAT for me as I have a hard time physically controlling my assistant animal after a recent stroke. I small bump REALLY gets their attention. The more it is used the more they connect what the message is being sent for direction & commands. Start out using inside home 1st; gradually move to backyard & quiet walks; then gently move into busy places and public areas. I used this in 15min intervals with much treats & positive reinforcement. You don’t need the collar tight, even at the snuggest pulled point. You will adjust it to still allow 2-4 fingers between collar and pets neck when at its tight position. They still need to breath! But the sudden feeling of it sipping around their neck really gets their attention! I also use a 4-4.5foot leash for better control since my arms are so short. I do know super tall people that also prefer the shorter leashes because their arms are so long and it keeps our dogs from accessing another dog, especially since many others use a 6-16ft leash or do not necessarily know how to properly manage a leash to begin with.

Ordered this for my small terrier. I like the fact that they tighten like a choke chain but are not as hard on the dog when they pull and they cannot wiggle out of it like a standard collar. The pink color looks good on my little girl and she seems to like it. The collar also has a reflective of band around to help with visibility. They are well made and has a locking feature on the clasp.

With 16/17 dogs, we go through a lot of collars. I like the martingale collar which prevents your dog from wiggling out of it without being choked in addition to them already pulling. The quick release buckle, the locking mechanism works well as long as there is not a bunch of sand in it, but that’s to be expected. I like that it’s fairly lightweight. The buckle seems a little big for the weight of the collar, but it’s fine. The ones with a lock are a little bigger than the simple ones. I never had one come apart, with or without a lock. But I did have a dog grab another one’s collar while playing and got the collar twisted around its lower jaw. Both dogs panicked, but the quick release buckle saved the day (and the dogs). So I don’t use the locking feature, but only buy the ones with buckle. The only thing I would have to complain about, and that only because I have hairless dogs, are the seams. There are a couple edges sticking up that scuffed the skin of the hairless ones, but did perfectly fine on the coated dogs! Overall a nice collar. I would buy again.

I walk my dog for a minimum of 30–60 minutes, daily. The walks are a great health support for my 71 year old frame. Our trainer initially recommended a metal chain collar with hooks that put pressure on his neck. Although the dog responded well to it, we felt it was ghastly and inhumane. I switched to this new collar, which is gentler on him! As a bonus, it’s a better fit for me, too! I now get an upper body workout along with my walking accomplishments! He’s much calmer and gentler on the lead and I’m getting buffer. I was Jim... but now I’m becomming Jimmy Buffer? Perhaps that's not the funniest witticism, but it's a great collar for Wilson and me... at a great price! Oh, and it has very good quality workmanship, too!
