OK, I'll admit: I was extremely skeptical when buying this "renewed" laptop. I can't tell you how many times I've bought a "refurbished" device only to receive something that looked and performed like it had been to war. Echoing what others have said, this is the exact opposite. My laptop came well-packaged and it comes in Microsoft Certified Refurbished white box. It was even packaged like it was brand new with the plastic wrap on the device and accessories (which were also new). Furthermore, there were no signs of wear or use on the laptop. It looks like a brand new device. I checked the battery health (both with Windows and Linux) and both report the battery at 100% health. In fact, Windows had the cycle count at 2. For the laptop itself, I'm very impressed with the Surface Laptop Go. I was coming from a Chuwi laptop, which was good in its own right, but I can't believe how premium this laptop is. It's fast, well-built and handles anything I need to do on it. Admittedly, I was worried about the display resolution, but after using the device, I can say it was unfounded. The display on this thing is fantastic. Where it falls short on the resolution numbers, it makes up by being a fantastic panel. The keyboard and trackpad are great. I understand that people miss the backlit keyboard, but that's a non-issue for me. I usually turn that feature off to save on battery. The sound quality is also great. It's loud with good clarity. I can't speak on the battery life, yet, but it seems average so far. Being a Microsoft device, Windows 11 is a pleasant experience. However, if you're a Linux fan (like me), you'll be happy to know that everything works out of the box. Overall, I am extremely pleased. The condition, value and performance of the laptop are all fantastic. I can't speak of the longevity of the laptop, but everything seems great so far. Sure, there are better value options out there (Chuwi, Alldocube, etc.) in this price segment, but I worried about the quality control with those devices. Great laptop made of high quality materials. Has more than enough power for its intended use being running word, watching videos, work, and online schooling. It has accompanied me many many hours writing papers, presentations, and quizzes. The camera is alright and the screen is a different aspect ratio than most laptops making it easier to use for writing and multitasking. Light weight. Easy to use. Speakers that don't sound half bad.     • HANDS DOWN, THE BEST SMALL LAPTOP FOR THE MONEY.
Okay, so you're thinking about a new laptop. The best bang for your buck laptop on the market right now is the MacBook Air with M1. Period. No Windows laptop can match that Apple package. But you don't like MacOS. You want a Windows machine. Something small and light. iPad ish, but a laptop, where you can do PLENTY. Something with a decent CPU to do the occasional video editing. Comfortably game on online services like Stadia. Type on the best keyboard you've ever typed on(yes the backlit is missing but I'm not complaining at this price point). Good battery life. Decent screen( yes the MacBook air is nicer, but price point). Look no further. THIS IS THE ONE. I got it renewed. Everything looked new, but the trackpad wasn't working correctly. Sent it to Microsoft. Repaired and back in a week. Works flawlessly. My wife now leaves her MacBook Air with M1 on her desk and hogs my machine because she finds it more portable and 'cute'. ... show more

    • Great travel laptop/notebook
I bought this as a refurb on Amazon. It looks quite new. Does not look like someone used it for a while. May be it was returned or some defect found and they repackaged it. Mine has 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD and figerprint reader. I needed something super light to travel where I mostly browse but also process photos on Adobe Photoshop Elements. Seems like this works great. I can pick it up in one hand without any struggle. Keyboard and trackpad are great. Screen size is smaller but I like the aspect ratio. Watching videos, browsing and doing some tech stuff I did not fine I'll be missing anything. Touch screen seems less sensitive than my Dell laptop which is ok. Batter life is OK not great. If they can get the battery life to 13 hours with normal usage which means 18 hours to manufacturers, then this product is unbeatable. I paid around $380 refub. I have zero hesitation recommending anyone who needs a light travel laptop even instead of an iPad because it comes with a great keyboard. You can actually run photoshop to do light work. I have things like mobaxterm and visual studio code installed and can do tech stuff on this. ... show more

    • Looked brand new but was a turd.
Where to start. Powered up ok, got to the desktop ok. Fan running at full speed though. Tried for several hours to install windows updates. Would download, install, restart, crash, repair itself, uninstall failed updates and then back to the desktop after an hour. So this time I did the other updates first, bunch of firmware ones. Those went ok. Decided to do the Windows feature updates again and same thing, download, install, reboot, crash, repair, uninstall failed updates and then back to the desktop and then powered off and back in the box for a return.
