I was initially attracted to the Ryzen 7 CPU thinking that it's performance would be better to that of Intel. It did bugged me that several youtube reviews of this laptop was less then stellar but I still went ahead with this renewed piece for $300 lesser than the regular selling price. Day 1: i installed MS Office and anti-virus and other software. Everything went smoothly and I was still mesmerized by the sharpness of the screen. Day 2: it went downhill. I ran was a 4K (2160, 60fps) version of youtube's beautiful video footage of Costa Rica's nature. The entire video was stuttering. I initially think it must be my wi-fi. Then every now and then, the laptop would restart itself randomly. I probably got 2 BSODs. I went to another place with "stronger" wifi signals to validate the video play. Despite that, the stuttering continued and the random restart become more frequently. Day 3: I tried to factory reset to return the laptop and this time after the first reboot, it could not even load windows. My take: This laptop is expensive for the configuration even though Microsoft said they specially tuned it with AMD. The same price you could get a DELL XPS 15 with a I7 9th gen processor and Nvidia graphics card and play the same video on the 4k gorgeous screen. ... show more

I got this laptop almost a year ago and really the only plus is the battery life. The durability is atrocious and boot up speed is sub par. Not to mention the screen will constantly glitch out and sometimes will completely brick and go black and won’t respond to being turned on or anything. This behavior has nothing to do with the screen damage, which I will talk about next. Within the first few month I had it the screen completely shattered from attaching a webcam to it. Keep in mind I was EXTREMELY delicate with it and have use this same device with other, equally thin screens with no issues. Sure enough, I saw other reviews online of people’s screens inexplicably cracking as well from virtually nothing. The rubber grips on the bottom have also fallen off and are gone. I still use this occasionally but my other computers, which are older btw and about the same specs, run better and are not falling apart. Good laptop, poor renewal certification. I have purchased this laptop twice renewed and twice have received a laptop that reboots constantly without warning. Seller should not be trusted.

I currently have 6 different top of the line laptops. Apple Macbook, 2 HP Spectres, HP Envy, Dell XPS and this Microsoft Surface Laptop 3. The Microsoft Surface and the Apple Macbook are the best of all and the Surface could be my favorite one. It has an incredible screen resolution and very quiet keyboard. I use a computer for my business and also for personal use about 6-8 hours a day. You cannot go wrong with this laptop. Excellent quality.
