    • Screen dims itself and cannot be changed...
I actually really like this system with two exceptions, and unfortunately, these exceptions affect everything about how one uses the system. The first is the low processor speed. I can get past that, considering it's an older system and the price reflects that. The major problem I may not be able to get past is that the screen dims itself for some reason, and the settings that are supposed to prevent this do not. I looked it up, and there are countless unresolved complaints everywhere about this system dimming the screen of its own accord, and that changing any of the settings accomplishes nothing. The usual way to prevent this is to disable autodimming in the power area. One can also usually disabled HDR, which often has this effect. It is a constant problem, because the screen is not a super bright screen to begin with even indoors, so when it dims itself, whether it's a browser or a game or whatever, you suddenly have to stop what you're doing, then hit the brightness button, which only works for a few seconds or so, and then it happens again and again, and it becomes impossible to use the system. There seems to be no solution for this that I can find, which is tragic, because aside from that, it really is a great system for the price, if one can get used to the extremely weak processor--which is to be expected for the age and price. I will unfortunately have to return this, I think. I don't want to, but I can't use a system I cannot see--what's a good plate with nothing on it? ... show more

    • Excellent product
It is used primarily for music display during performances. A longer battery life would be a plus but so far there have been no problems.

    • USB Connections didn't work
We returned the Surface since the USB connectors didn't work and could not be repaired. It seems to be an issue with some Surface devices

    • Screen cracks on its own.
Had this for a few months now and the screen has cracked out of no where. I have never dropped it and it barely moves off of my desk. This is common enough problem on the Surface Laptop 3 that they will replace but will refuse to replace the Surface Book 3. If you do a quick google search you will find that this is a problem. If you go through support they will only offer to replace it for $599. Do not waste your money on this. ... show more
