  • Solid addition to the world of audio accessories
The Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset is a solid addition to the world of audio accessories. It combines style and functionality in a sleek package. The headset's modern design is visually appealing, making it a suitable choice for both professional and personal use. In terms of performance, the audio quality is commendable. The headset delivers clear sound, whether you're using it for work-related calls or leisurely listening to music. The noise-canceling feature helps to block out ambient noise, ensuring an immersive audio experience. One notable feature is its compatibility with Microsoft Teams. It seamlessly integrates with the platform, enhancing the communication experience for professionals. The built-in microphone is clear and ensures that your voice comes through crisply during calls. Comfort is key for long hours of use, and the Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset doesn't disappoint in this aspect. The ear cups are cushioned, and the adjustable headband provides a comfortable fit, even during extended wear. Battery life is impressive, with a single charge lasting for hours, reducing the need for frequent recharging. Additionally, the controls are intuitive and easy to use, adding to the overall convenience of the headset. In summary, the Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset offers a balance of style, performance, and comfort. It's a strong choice for professionals looking to enhance their audio experience, especially if they are integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem. ... show more

  • Overall really good. Not perfect, but they serve their purpose
They function well. Connectivity is a breeze with the USB dongle. Audio quality is nice and clear, but very little bass, so they work well for calls and meetings but not media, if that is important to you. They will occasionally disconnect and I have to turn them off/on to reconnect, but other headsets do that as well. They could stand to be a little louder. I usually wear them just off my ear so I can hear my surroundings, then I pull them to my ear for a call. Even that close to my ear, I can barely hear when a call is coming in. Again, not a perfect headset, but they're comfortable, built well, have a quality feel, and function great for their purpose. Teams integration has been seamless so far. ... show more

  • Suitable Teams Wireless Headset
I've been evaluating a few different wireless solutions to use with Teams and decided on the MS Modern Wireless Headset. I've tried the Jabra Evolve2 65 and the Jabra Elite 65t (paired with the Jabra link 380 that comes with the Evolve2 65). The MS Modern Wireless Headset works best with Teams (I've only tried on Windows). I think there must be some optimization going on because when I recorded samples using an audio recorder app, outside of Teams, the mic quality was not very good. But on a Teams call it sounded much better. The MS Modern Wireless Headset has many of the same features as the Jabra Evolve2 65 - status light on the usb receiver, raise mic to mute, on device controls for mute and volume. The volume wheel on the MS Modern headset is superior for me, as opposed to the buttons on the Jabra. The sound on the Jabra mic is superior in all ways (clarity and noise cancelling). Both are light and should be comfortable for most people to wear for extended meetings. But, I have a real problem with the fit of the Jabra. They do not sit well on my ears, and tend to turn in. This causes the mic to touch my face or glasses when lowering it. The Jabra headset does also not feel solid on my head, causing me to hold it on top when moving the mic up or down. I haven't had any problems with it, but the Jabra mic feels flimsy compared to the MS Modern Wireless Headset. The MS headset fits me perfectly, feels light, and rests on my ears at a perfect angle. The MS headset also looks a bit more professional to me, if that is important to you. It sits closer to my head than the Jabra and is slightly smaller. The battery on the Jabra Evolve2 65 will last longer, but the MS headset will easily get through 2 days for me. The Jabra has many setting in the Jabra Direct app, while there is nothing to adjust for the MS headset. The MS headset doesn't have the Sidetalk feature of the Jabra (where you can hear yourself a bit). That is fine for me because the MS headset doesn't completely isolate hearing for me - the ear cups let a little outside sound in so I can hear myself talking. Then, there is the cost difference. The Jabra Evolve2 65 is more than double the MS Modern Wireless Headset. Despite the fit issues, I don't feel the Jabra are worth double. I also tried using the Jabra Elite 65t paired to the Jabra link 380 that comes with the Evolve2 65. This is probably not "officially" supported by Jabra, but you can an official Teams certified version of the 65t that includes the Jabra link (that seems very very expensive to me, though so I thought I would try this set up). The problem I had with the 65t was I couldn't get a good balance of the Hear-Through feature and had that ear plug feeling while talking. The Jabra link can be purchased separately, but it seems really costly to me. The Elite 65t are rather old at this point and only have 5 hours of battery life, and charge the case over micro usb. However, the mics on the 65t do a great job, which was unexpected. The same 65t earbuds paired to bluetooth in Windows had worse range, sound, and mic quality, so the Jabra link does help a lot. One thing to note is the range. I was able to walk about 30 feet away with the Jabra (both the Evolve2 65and Elite 65t) before noticing any problems. The MS headphones seem to lose a bit of audio at about 20 feet (going through a couple of walls). I was able to heard just fine, but people on the calls noticed my audio getting choppy at those distances. This will be fine for my case, but might be an issue for others to consider. If you need a solid performing wired headset, I would go with the Jabra Evolve2 30. I found this had the best features for the price in a wired headset, and purchased one to use as a backup. ... show more

  • Decent for the price Decent for the price
I purchased in September 2023 it is now Feb 2025. Pros: to mute just flip the mic up or hit the button Good clear calls This headset does work well for teams, Cisco/finesse, working from home Charges fast and works for a day or 2 between needing to charge again. Cons: The flip to mute glitches sometimes even within the first month of purchase The band on top separated about one month of use. I duct taped it and has been fine The ear cushion just popped off and no way to put it back on. If you’re looking for a cheap wah head set this is good. It lasted about 1.5 years for me even tho some glitches. It is now fallen apart tho so will be ordering a different one to try out. ... show more

  • Very good headset
The best feature about this headset is that when you flip up the mic boom, it automatically mutes and when you flip down, it unmutes. Also, this headset is optimized to work with MS-Teams which is the primary audience for this headset. The comfort level is 3.5 out of 5 and the sound quality is 4 out of 5. The most amazing feature of this headset is that the battery life is freaking 30 hours listening time and 15 hours talk time. Summary- Excellent value for the money if you are looking for a headset to do some casual music listening and heavy conference calling. ... show more

  • Microsoft has sabotaged a good product. Fragile mic arm. App doesn't see device. UGH!!!
I wanted to like these but Microsoft's corner-cutting comes at a steep price in functionality and durability. First, the mic arm hinge is very fragile and when it pops out, its housing just breaks. Not reparable. May as well cut the mic arm off and use them as uncomfortable audio headphones. It just flops down, attached to a very short wire, and there is no way to repair it. It will remain permanently muted or unmuted, depending on its position when it broke. If you do buy these, be very cautious because it looks a lot more durable than it really is. Second, it comes in an English language box, programmed in Spanish language bluetooth prompts. There is no way to change it. MS says just download the app. The app does not see the headphones. If it does, it wants a bluetooth pin. Can't find that anywhere. Third, the "clamping" pressure of the headphones, combined with the smaller diameter of the ear cushions, makes these uncomfortable for me after a while. They are okay for a 30-60 minute meeting but not much more. It doesn't come with a case. It doesn't have an 1/8 audio jack to use with a cable (for air travel, for example). It's one talent is that it works quite well with Teams, so if MS comes out with a new version and they have the capacity to learn from their mistakes (inconsistent at best), wait for version 2. I was happy with the headset for about 3 weeks, and recommended it to coworkers. I am telling them now to forget what I said and look for Jabra or something else. ... show more

  • Excellent headset for the price
This is an excellent headset for the price range. The on headset controls for muting the mic, adjusting the volume, answering Teams calls are a nice welcome over my previous headset. There is a USB adapter that you need to plug into the computer. I haven't tried Bluetooth connectivity, but I suspect you'll lose some quality of features. When you turn the headset on, it will tell you the approx. battery time. This is a VERY useful feature to help avoid issues during meetings. The headset also mutes when you lift the mic boom all the way up and you can hear a small audio tone. There is a tiny LED light at the end of the boom that you can just about make out at the periphery of the eye (although I have to really focus to see it). You can also control the audio volume by turning the right side, also a welcome option. The power button is a slide switch, this is something I really like compared to previous headsets that require you to hold a button for several seconds. It is also very comfortable for short meetings. With meetings over 1hr I can feel a little ear fatigue but it's not as bad as it was with my previous MPow headset. I think if you have a larger head this may pose more of an issue for you. The only negative so far that I have seen is that you can only have the MIC on the left hand side. So, if this is an issue, you may need to look for another solution. If not then I would recommend this, the price point is excellent. ... show more

  • TIRED OF THOSE JANKY CHEAP HEADSETS FROM WORK? GET THESE! TIRED OF THOSE JANKY CHEAP HEADSETS FROM WORK? GET THESE!
I was so tired of the wired headset that I got from work to use. I hate the tangles and the lack of movement I could have. I wanted to have freedom to stretch while taking a call or refilling my coffee while in a meeting. I love that the ear pads feel like the same material as my Bose Quiet Comfort 35s it’s luxury! The noise canceling is great. You can adjust the headset if you want to have it on only one ear which I do sometimes and I can have my airpod in the other or just be able to listen to my surroundings working from home. I haven’t had any complaints from callers about them not being able to hear me well. The sounds comes in clearly on my end as well. You can lift the microphone up to mute! And turn the dial on the right side forward or backwards to increase and decrease the volume. Tip: I was frustrated when I first got these I started having buyers remorse the first 1hr of using them because the volume sounded so low when I was taking calls and no matter how far up I turned the dial there was no increase. I realized I needed to also increase the volume using my keyword as well. That changed EVERYTHING and I was immediately in love and so happy I purchased these! Also, there is like an Alexa voice that tells you how much battery is left before needing to be charged which I love! Still have 15hrs left right out of the box. GET THESE. GET THESE. GET THESE NOW! ... show more
