  • As a biology nut: LOVE IT
Very easy to use and tinker with! Totally awesome little microscope and I can't wait to put even more weird things in it. I put some saliva and some dog hair and took photos with my phone to share. The zoom is pretty awesome, though it could benefit from even stronger lenses. Comes with a great carrying case which I did not expect, along with a foam lid to place atop the case so nothing is damaged. Many slides!! And tiny slide covers too, it’s got everything you need to get started. Big con: the power cord is incredibly short. In fact I've never seen a shorter power cord. You will 100% need an extension cord to use this. ... show more

  • Pretty good for a toy!
This is not a professional microscope. It'd probably be outclassed in a Junior High science lab, honestly. That said, it's not bad for what it is... 2000x is theoretically possible, but you aren't going to like what you're looking at. This is a fairly well built microscope with both transmission and reflection modes of the inbuilt, dimmable LED. The microscope can be operated off of alkaline batteries, or via the included power adapter. Comes in a soft case with cut-foam padded inserts, three eyepieces (2x, 10x, 25x) along with an adapter for an iPhone to take pictures through the eyepiece. Also includes a Barlow lens, which is how you get up to 2000x, with the 40x objective selected. There are a lot of optical aberrations when looking at samples with the microscope... this is not serious lab grade equipment. However, for small projects at home - primarily small electronic components/chips/etc, or other things like cell cultures, it's not terrible. If you had teens, it'd be a great intro piece for biological sciences. The set includes some (terrible) premounted sample slides, plus two slide holders, glass covers, and necessary tooling to get going with making your own specimens. I even saw Amazon carries methylene blue and other stains if you wanted to play with that for cheap. The only real dislike (besides the lens qualities) is the stage itself - Z axis focus is pretty good, but centering the slide through the X/Y adjustment screws is pretty clunky and non ergonomic. The slide holder on the stage is also kind of weird, clamping from the side against a stop-block instead of down on the slide from above, which I also dislike. In short, probably worth the price...way better than what I had when I was a little kid... but not anywhere close to what I used in undergrad/grad school classes by a long shot. On the other hand? It's less than 10% of the price of even those... ... show more

  • Huge upgrade for me
For some reason the ancient Monolux microscope I got for my birthday 60-something years ago doesn't work well anymore. The USB digital microscopes just don't work very well either. Especially after a puppy chews the cord but their photographic capability comes in handy. I am very pleased to have this new and very comprehensive kit for my usage. I often need to take microscopic pictures of things for my business. This setup will make it so much easier and so much better. I like it. A lot. ... show more

  • Good package for students
Fitense Microscope for Adults Kids,40X-2000X This Microscope is built well for the price especially one with an X and Y axis dial so you don't have to manually move the slide around. The optics are good enough for most high school science topics, but for college level work you may want something better. 2000x on this is not the same as 2000x on your college microscope. This set comes with almost everything you need, blank slides with slide covers, and some sample items to look at. I like that it has a nice case to store it in as well. Overall, it a great buy and works great. ... show more

  • Good for the price
At its current sale price (which is roughly 35% off the original price) this is easily a 5 star microscope. But at the time I ordered it was more so that’s why I docked a star. It’s a really nice microscope for this price range. The overall fit and finish leaves a bit to be desired. I am not unhappy with it though. The clarity of the images is pretty good. The higher the focus, the less clear it seems to get. But it’s clear enough at most resolutions for my uses. It comes in a nice carrying case with everything you need to get started. For the current sale price you really can’t go wrong buying this. ... show more

  • This is a great piece of equipment for adults and
I purchased this to give us a gift to a five-year-old who is very intelligent and curious about all different things in the world. We were having a discussion about the opposite of a telescope, and he was very curious to what kind of things can be seen at the microorganism level. I believe it’s very important to give a perspective to young children of the nature of small objects such as microorganisms particles and cells so that they can better understand how science is done ... show more

If you or your kid is into science? This is a great option. It’s affordable but great quality and really opens up so many cool projects to do with your kid or just by yourself.

  • Great for beginners or classrooms
A quality microscope with a variety of slide choices. Inspires an interest in biology and environmental etc sciences in my opinion. Easy hands on learning tool with good lighting and a thick, durable lense. The batteries are not included but you are also given a plug in cord. Simple to transport with the nice carry bag that is included. I love the phone holder and the ability to easily share images. Great enhanced contrast. You can adjust the brightness level as needed. Not difficult to clean at all. So many viewing options and a great value at an affordable price tag. ... show more
