The Shure SM7B microphone is sold in a cardboard box with no storage case. All of my microphones have individual cases, or set cases. I have previously had the SM7B in a small padded cinch bag, and kept the pop filters in separate ziplock plastic bags to keep them safe from damage. With this mic case, I can keep the SM7B with the standard pop filter on it, and the large pop filter in the extra space/zippered area of the case. Inside there is a large velcro strap that keeps the SM7B held in place inside the case, so it does not shift around. There are also a couple small dividers that are set up beside the microphone inside the case to partition the space and give a couple smaller storage locations. For anyone who has some time working with the SM7B, you’ll definitely be running a Cloud Lifter CL-1 in front of it. The CL-1 and a short XLR cable are the perfect candidates for the two extra storage locations set up by the partition. This case is the perfect solution for storing/transporting it all in one handy case! It's a soft case, not a hard shell case, and It works great for my intended purpose of storage and transportation of my specific microphone and accessories. I like to have all microphones in individual protective cases w/accessories and then I store them together in larger travel cases or packs as needed. This case I can recommended for the Shure SM7B, CloudLifter CL-1, and accessories. Glad to have the SM7B case finally figured out!

The media could not be loaded. If you are comfortable with a soft case, this smallish case does the trick nicely. It fits everything mic related that I need (except a mic stand obviously) and provides a decent amount of protection from minor bumps. I keep my mic in its own bag so for me this is enough protection for going to rehearsals and gigs. Like the velcro that holds your mic in place and the mesh bag on the top. Also like the look of this bag. All in all a good choice at this price.

They don't specifically say it's a soft case, but they don't claim it's a hard case either...so I'm not saying it was deceptive advertising. Although the product photos do all seem to suggest that they hold a specific form, which is what led me to think it was a hard case. So, I got it for a Shure SM7B mic, but I'm not going to use it for that because it provides very little protection beyond cosmetic. Yes, there's a little velcro swatch you can wrap around the mic while it's inside the case, but it's not especially well padded or anything, so again, all it's really doing is protecting the cosmetic condition of the mic. So this case won't really do much for you against crushing or dropping (maybe a tiny bit of protection against a very mild drop), and yet, it's just as expensive as many other hard cases that are available. I don't see any benefit to this case over other similar options, and given that it's not even less expensive for the lesser protection, I can't really recommend it.

I was always hesitant to move my Shure mic and bring it with me when I travelled. I have a never ending fear of damaging it, and the fact that it's NOT cheap scares the crap out of me. This travel case is great for not only the microphone itself, but also extra attachments that I would use to set it up in a portable setup! I really enjoy it a lot.

This is a small, good quality case that could be used for any number of items. I'm currently using it for a small Yamaha mixer, which fits nicely. That was not my intended use when I ordered it but I didn't really pay close enough attention to the size. Anyway, it's nice case with internal sections that can be adjusted for size. If using for a microphone, as advertised, you should have no issues. Just get the measurements right and you won't be disappointed.

I use this for my portable tascam recorder and at this point not a specific mic, but its handy, sturdy, and I like the bright orange highlights which make it easy to see when every other bag is a black color only.
