I’ve been looking for a white low profile boom arm for a while and this one has everything I was looking for. There were others but this one was the most affordable. Pros: It’s solid, and very sturdy. The tension is easily adjustable with the included tools and it holds my Shure MV7 securely. There’s hides for the cables under the arm and I love that they added a handle to the desk mount portion so you don’t have to fidget tightening a knob, especially when installing it to the back of your desk. Cons: The part that attaches the mic to the arm is a ball joint and while it does the job well I would have preferred a joint more like the others in the arm. Other than that I don’t have any other cons to add and I feel like that’s more of a nit pick than a con. Definitely worth picking up. ... show more

Keep in mind I have no prior experience with boom arms. This is a really good low profile boom arm. It allows a good range of motion, as well does not obstruct my view at all of my keyboard or the screen. It has good tension on the arm and for my fifine A6 it has no issues holding that up. The channel for the wires is also very useful, keeps them out of the way in a neat little way. And the ability to hold it to the side of the desk makes it stay out of the way and not needing to frill holes in the desk. ... show more

I took a chance on this, hoping it would be sturdy enough to support a 2lb DSLR camera without sagging, and it does a great job! Note that it doesn't come with a mic to camera thread adaptor, but those are easy to find. No complaints with this stand.

    • Not quite an Elgato, but solid

Is this as good as the Elgato LP? No. And I think the additional $25-30 is worth it when you can find the Elgato on sale. That said, this isn’t a bad arm and accomplishes the same idea. It was a bit shorter than expected, but more than enough space to reach across the desk. It seems solid enough, though it does struggle a bit with a few of my heavier mics. It still holds them, but it is fighting hard to keep it up. The range of motion is totally acceptable, and the front part of the arm does rotate in pretty much any direction you’d need. I have questions about how long the joint at the end will hold up - the part connecting to the mic or shock mount - but so far, so good. You can increase the tension at all the rotation spots, but so far, I can’t get the sweet spot between too tight and too loose. I’ll get there eventually. So, here’s my thought: If you want an arm that will last 5 years of more, go with an Elgato. But if you want a cheaper option that works as intended and can last you a year or two, this seems like a solid choice. ... show more

this boom arm is very easy to setup, very flexible, sturdy, stable, and a great choice for a boom arm. i replaced my old $10 boom arm because it was too loud and this boom arm is SILENT when you move it around! i 100% recommend this boom arm.
