This is MK8 style nozzle, it is made from a A2 Tool Steel, heat treated to 57-62 RC and plated with TwinClad XT coating. If you are working with abrasive Carbon Fiber, Stainless Steel, wood filled or any other metal filled filaments, this will greatly improve the life of your nozzle. This nozzle replaced a standard brass nozzle on a CR-10S. I put it through the paces with several wood filament prints as well as PLA, ABS and HIPS and have so far not noticed any deterioration. I already ran my nozzle 10 - 20 degrees hotter than most recommended filament temperatures and did not need to make any adjustments to my print temperatures with this nozzle. ... show more

I initially hated this thing. Couldn't get a good print. I thought I should've listened to the others. However, I have overcome. My printer and settings: Ender 3 Pro bed: 70 degrees Nozzle: 200-205 Printing with a glass bed. I ended up manually leveling my bed by letting a little bit of the filament run through the tip, and then having the nozzle just BARELY press the filament into the bed. Do that for all sides, let it heat up for an extra 5 minutes, and the nozzle worked perfectly. I make sure to set time aside with this nozzle, let it do it's thing to heat up. I've had nothing but perfect or near perfect first layers. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. make sure you're using your glass bed correctly (and not like me who forgot to remove the black material on the metal bed before installing the glass, I know, I am a wiser 3D printer today.) And PLEASE give it that extra 5-10 minutes to heat up after it's reached the nozzle temperature. I went from what I thought was a waste of money to hoping these are still made in a year when I have to replace it. ... show more

I don’t understand how people are having problems with this nozzle. I will say that 99% of negative reviews on here are due to user error. I installed on stock Ender 3 hotend to print Carbon Fiber PLA. Installed the nozzle correctly, upped the temp in Cura about 5c (print a temp test tower to find your temp) and started printing. Been through at least 4kg of CF/PLA and 8kg+ of PLA and PETG without any clogs or other problems. The nozzle still looks great, stays clean, and prints beautifully. ... show more

I have a couple of spools of Luminescent Blue filament and a spool and a half of Carbon Fiber. I'm told these filaments can wear out a brass nozzle in a single print so I needed something more durable. Tungsten nozzles were out of stock for a while, and the hardened steel nozzles were rated almost as tough, so I ordered and installed this on my Ender 3 Pro. I read online the process for swapping out a nozzle and gave it a go. No leaks, and prints come out fine. ... show more

I am on my second one of these nozzles. I don't think that the first one had to be replaced but I was doing some maintenance so I changed it. The first one lasted me at least 6 months with hundreds of hours of printing with no problems. They are a little pricey compared to regular brass nozzles but you're limited to what you can use with the micro Swiss hot ends. At least they last a while. ... show more
