Description

The MICHELIN Road 5 tire offers superior wet weather grip versus leading competitors due to patented MICHELIN XST Evo siping and our latest 2CT and 2CT+ tread compounds. Even after 3,500 miles the MICHELIN Road 5 tire stop as well in wet conditions as a new MICHELIN Road 4 tire. Improved stability is provided by the use of MICHELIN ACT+ casing technology which reinforces the shoulder areas while leaving the crown area compliant for a more comfortable ride. Based on internal wet lap times comparing MICHELIN Road 5 tires with METZELER Roadtec 01 tires, DUNLOP ROADSMART III tires, CONTINENTAL ContiRoadAttack 3 tires, PIRELLI Angel GT tires, BRIDGESTONE T30 EVO tires, and MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires in dimensions 120/70 ZR17 (front) and 180/55/ZR17 (rear) on a 2013 Suzuki Bandit 1250, conducted in Ladoux, France. • Excellent general use tire
This is my first time not running a "street slick" like a SuperCorsa SP or similar (on superbikes) and I have been VERY impressed with these tires on a V2 Ducati Monster 900S. Good dry grip and excellent wet traction. They may not be sufficient for high HP bikes or very fast street riding but they work perfectly for aggressive cornering on a low HP bike like the Monster in the wet or dry. ... show more

  • They stick!
Great tires all the way around! Any riding style or any weather conditions they work great. Could not ask for much more other than price. But if you ride motorcycles you already know tires are not cheap

  • Great tire
This tire came on my 2024 mt07. Put 9,987 miles on it to date. Im in utah so have only about 5 months or riding time. Still could put another couple hundred miles on it im sure. But summer just hit and slapped on a new one. Can't beat it. I ride pretty hard, canyon mountain riding only. Didn't let me down. 1/2 chicken strips, they let ya lay in over and hold. ... show more

  • Great practical “sport” tire.
I commute on my bike often and ride canyon roads aggressively every weekend. This tire is good for both but not perfect for either with a slight emphasis on performance. You can definitely feel the difference between this and the supercorsa or the power gp but those tires don’t handle wet conditions and they definitely don’t get 8-10k miles. Overall it’s the only compromise I’ve been happy with having tried 4-5 different tires over the years. It lets me do what I want to do safely while being reasonably economical and time efficient (not swapping tires frequently). If you don’t ride in wet conditions at all and don’t mind changing tires every 2-4k miles buy something more aggressive. If you never ride track or canyons buy a touring tire. If you’re in between like me, buy this! ... show more

  • Best tire for fz09/mt09
This tire is just amazing. I've put over 3000 miles on it already of street use and shows very little wear and I ride pretty aggressive . They have way more grip than the stock tire and feal great in the corners adding more confident riding. Would highly recommend this tire for any bike with alot of power..... just an update its 2023 now and I got every bit of ten thousand miles out of this tire with constant abuse and wheeling every chance I get . Now on to the road 6 but would still not hesitate to use the road 5 again. Just an excellent tire all around ... show more

  • I change motorcycle tires 4 a living
The tire is good but the mileage that was supposed to be better than it successor is not as good or the same maybe as The old model tire Pilot Road four both of them struggle with scallop in the front tire the five maybe better and is probably better in the rain than the road four and the road pilot 4 was good but has longevity no they don’t go any further. Bonuses they grip really good lots of grip on hard lean angles. Bottom line expensive tire but does grip quite well in the rain and dry just you are lucky to get 5000 miles out of them and if you drive more on the sport side of things 35 3800 miles is all you’re going to see. Yes I realize if you ride your motorcycle like a grandma in a minivan and you might see 8000 miles on Pilot Road 5. PS now we have the new Michelin pilot Road six 6 these seem to Address to shortcomings of the pilot Road five fingers crossed 🤔 ... show more
