After this headboard/ frame was delivered, I put my old mattress on it just to have an idea of what the bed would look like. I laid down on the bed, and I was surprised at how comfortable the bed frame was with my 15-year-old mattress. I discovered that this platform style bed frame is really comfortable. I still havèn't replaced the old mattress with the new mattress because this platform frame bed is so comfortable. So I'm actually considering selling my new mattress & box spring since this bed is so comfy even with the old mattress. So the headboard is what attracted me to this purchase, and now I don't need a box spring or a new mattress. I'd like to say how simple and easy this bed was to put together. They ship the bed pretty much half way done for you. Took a little over 30 minutes which is nothing compared to some of these other companies. I LOVED the way the headboard stored some of the components. It feels amazing. In the booklet, they left a thank you note, which always makes you feel like you made the right choice. Overall super impressed. This bedframe is really nice. It was easy to assemble. I think it was a 20 min assemble maybe. I was worried my 14 inch memory foam mattress would be too big but it fit PERFECT ！ The black shade is slightly different when sunlight hits it but it's nothing major.
