  • Awesome!!!
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
This tool is great. Lots of power, fast, and sinks the nail perfectly. I run 3 1/4 inch hot dipped galvanized full ring shank nails through 10 x 10 treated post no problem, didn't miss a beat, or jam. Way faster than Dewalt, and so much smoother operating, no hesitation in either mode and the bump mode works great. Super easy thumb dial nail depth adjustment The only bad is the wide rafter hook, but that is a simple easy fix. Is a little heavy but like everything else you will get used to it, besides it's a small price to pay to not have to drag out the hose, compressor, set up, unwind through the wall studs, or up on the roof doing double plate, rafters, etc. This thing has power, I highly recommend it!!! ... show more

  • Take the pepsi challenge with this gun
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
This gun rocks. Im a makita guy, but they dont offer a framer. I have the makita 18ga cordless and 16ga cordless. The 18 ga is iffy, doesnt sink all the way, ALL THE TIME. Back to hitachi, this gun hammers hard, sinks every nail, every time, perfectly. I do lots of remodels, current project is house built in 83-84'. Studs are hard and so are rafters, A frame house. This guns seriously sinks nails into old hard lumber with ease. Even when battery light started flashing red, i framed to more additional walls with no noticeable loss of power. Fantastic. I texted a coworker who has the Milwaukee, and said lets bring it. Bump fire isnt as streamlined as a pneumatic, have to hold it more firmly instead of an actual bump, but with practice im sure ill figure it out. Top notch. ... show more

  • Great tool for the money
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
This is a great product that excels in portability and performance. It is quite heavy and very powerful so everyday use might be a challenge, but for a hobbyist that need’s portability and flexibility, I would greatly recommend it.

  • It doesn't use the same battery as original Metabo tools but it works great.
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
I purchased this because I already have a stock of Metabo cordless tools and therefore it can share the same battery. Boy was I wrong! I read somewhere that the battery was backward compatible. Well, it is not. The battery is completely different. This ruined my quest to get all my cordless tools down to no more than 2 or 3 battery types. The other problem is the nail slot is so small that you can only load one rack of nails at a time. They should have at least made it long enough to hold two. I'm not sure if Metabo will be as good as it use to be now that they are owned by Hitachi or vice versa. Metabo is German and Hitachi is Japanese. Its obvious which one produces the best quality and engineering. But well see if that changes. The next problem is this thing is heavy. It may not seem heavy at first if you're a pretty strong guy but im willing to bet after a while you'll start to notice it too. But now for the "good". Its a Metabo! That use to mean something. I really hope it still does. Well see. So far, it works great. I haven't had any problems. Not even one nail has jammed. Some people complain about the hook being too big. I kinda agree but its better that it's a little too big than to be a little too small. Lol. The battery lasted for the entire time I needed it too which was about 400 strikes. Would I recommend it? Yes I would if you don't mind the weight. Even more if the rest of your tools can use the same battery. I think it's got some kind of chip in it so universal battery adapters won't work. My other cordless tools are mostly Ryobi and I would have got a Ryobi Framing nailer instead but unfortunately they don't make a framing nailer...yet. ... show more

  • Love this nailgun.
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
The first one I ordered was defective but I was able to return and get a replacement quickly. This was a Xmas gift to me from my husband so I could build a new chicken coop. I love to build but hammers and drill are just too much work for me. This made my life soooooo much easier. I couldn’t be happier. It’s strong and powerful. It is a bit heavy but that’s to be expected. I love that I can go anywhere with it without bringing any extra equipment. I’ve already built a new chicken coop, a fence for my chicken yard and I built my kids an art table with chairs. I’ll be building a quail enclosure next before starting my kids above ground playhouse . ... show more

  • Check the tool to see if it has nails in it
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
I bought this gun used from Amazon, they were the seller. The gun came without a carrying bag which I complained about and they gave me a credit for so I will be buying a carrying bag for it. My biggest issue that it came with three 21° nails in it even though it's a third degree nailer. If you buy the gun it'll understand what I'm talking about it's very hard to see if there are any nails in the tool so I loaded my 30° nails into it shot it twice it worked terribly and I was thinking I was just going to return the whole thing. The next morning I looked at the two nails I had shot and noticed that they were full roundhead nails plastic collated type. I took the nails I had loaded into the gun back out and out fell two 21° plastic collated full round head nails. There's no way a 30° nailer is going to shoot these and so I loaded 30° nails back into it after making sure there were no more nails in it and it shot very well. The point is don't put the battery on and assume that there are no nails in a used tool sold by Amazon. Luckily I didn't shoot myself, The tool like most now also does not come with an owner's manual but it's downloadable. I have found the gun to be great and works very well just sending out the caution to be careful when you buy used from Amazon ... show more

  • Ever Worked
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
Generally, Japanese products are well-made and reliable even if they are made in China. This one never worked out-of-the-box. The battery would simply not charge. Quality control of battery and charger apparently did not take place. What’s worse was the product was sent to a construction site which caused all manner of problems. I can not recommend this product. ... show more

  • Are you a professional? Buy this nailer!!!!
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
I am a carpenter/craftsman with 30+ years in the trade(3rd generation carpenter) and I've owned every framing nailer made during that time, pneumatic or otherwise. This nailer is a BEAST!!! I've been using it for almost a month now and it hasn't left a single nail proud in the over two full boxes I've fired through it. Its quiet too compared to my Paslode gas nailers, and requires ZERO maintenance. It is very important that my tools are the best, I have too many things to worry about in a day onsite, my Metabo framing nailer is NOT one of them. Highly recommend this product to professionals like myself, it's a great value and a smart investment into your peace of mind. ... show more
