This replaced a wall-mounted fountain that had been leaking for years, rotting the drywall to which it was mounted. This is a big improvement for many reasons, with one drawback I was able to rectify (a pun, as you will see). > It sits on the floor, and we have placed it on a decorative waterproof (rubber-bottomed) throw-rug. > The design, in which the water glides down a screen ending in a short fall to the bottom pool, contains the water effectively, so we're refilling it with about 1 gallon/week, consuming much less than its predecessor. > The look of the fountain and flowing water is quite attractive, blending well into its environment without aggressively drawing attention to itself. If you let your eyes follow the water, you can actually see waves form and break along the screen. > The stones didn't add much to the appearance, so we left them out, and the trays on which they sit. A matter of taste. > The sound of the falling water is also soft and harmonious. The one negative, and my reason for only four stars: The fountain uses an AC pump which, as AC motors do, is energized by magnetic field-producing coils inside, powered by the 120 volts of 60Hz wall power This is also how loudspeakers work (run AC through a coil, mount it to a diaphragm and put it near a magnet), and as a result produces a very noticeable, distorted hum that dilutes the peaceful sound produced by the water. It's not designed to be a loudspeaker but it's not designed not to be. I solved this by replacing it with a DC (AC to DC - the "rectify" pun referred to above, a bit lame but good for geeks) aquarium pump with similar performance bought off Amazon, then getting an outlet fitting adapter from the local garden supply store. It wasn't very expensive compared to the cost of the fountain itself. The result is excellent - you only hear the water, which is very soothing. I recommend the manufacturer consider this change.

The media could not be loaded. My husband has been wanting a fountain that reminds him of summer and water sound. This fountain was little on the expensive side but it’s also very large and filled a big section in our living room. The sound of the waterfall is soothing and looking at the water come down is mesmerizing. It brings such calm and comfort into our home. We love it and very happy with it
