    • Great bed, solid wood
I will start by saying that it's quite a project to put together but the end result is a solid full bunk bed for kids. The reasons why I gave 4 stars and not 5 are the following: 1. The directions show 16 wood boards that hold the mattress for each bed and I should have had 32 total boards. Instead I got only 13 per bed or 26 total. They will do the job but it will include some measuring to have theem equally separated. 2. The boards that are supposed to hold the mattress are a bit shorter than they are supposed to be. So you won't be able to put a screw on each side because the hole on the board ends up being too close to the edge where it's supposed to stand. The way to go around is to put a hole in the middle of each board rather than follow the direction. Basically have to open a hole in the middle of each board for increased stability and safety. 3. The long screws to hold the frame of the bed together sometimes don't tighten up fully. They just keep spinning. Just have to be mindful of that. Not a deal breaker as you put the bed together but we will find out after we get some use to it whether or not it will be an issue. I guess for the price you pay it's pretty good compared to some other full bunk beds. ... show more

We purchased this bed for our five year old, she loves it. Has a lot of fun with hanging out in the "treehouse". The bed is sturdy and well built. We left out the slats in the bottom bunk to turn it into a reading area. Notice some buyers felt the bed wasn't not as sturdy when leaving these slat out but I think it depends on if it is sitting on a wood floor or carpet. Our's is on carpet and helps to keep the bed from racking without the slats. We put a Nest BKB foam mattress in the top bunk. Fits perfectly with room to spare but the slats are spaced a little too wide for just the foam mattress. We used the extra slats we didn't use in the bottom bunk on ours but otherwise would recommend putting in a bunkie board or maybe a piece of 3/8" ply to give some more support. For assembly STRONGLY RECOMMEND using a screw gun with a 4mm or 5/32" hex driver tip for assembly. There are a LOT of 1/4" lag screws to install which would take forever if you are trying to do this by hand with the allen key provided. Using a screw gun by myself, assembly took about 3 hrs start to finish. ... show more

My wife and I bought this bunk bed for our boys who sleep in an outdoors/national parks themed bed room. I should note that the wood color is a slightly lighter gray than how it looks in the listing, but the color is great. No complaints there. It feels really sturdy, obviously plenty of support for my 5-yo son who sleeps up there, but it's also able to easily support his 180-lb dad without any movement, sounds, or signs of excessive stress when I'm up there reading him a story or something. Overall we're very happy with the bed. The only con I can think of is that I would have liked for the roof piece to extend all the way back to the wall to give my kids more of a treehouse feel, but it's not a huge deal. ... show more

This bed is very sturdy, easy to put together. It would be easier with a drill bit that fits an Allen head. It is doable with just the tool provided as we did it but would have cut down on the time. All of the pieces were labeled and easy picture instructions. The only thing that had me confused was it came in 2 boxes 3 days apart otherwise no problems. Overall great product great price point. PLEASE BE AWARE! This was bought for my grand child as a birthday gift. The holes does not line up. The entire bed frame is not aligned with each other. A mistake is if one piece is defective but the entire frame is defective.
