This was cost effective and feels very solid. A few things: 1- other reviewers saying this took them 6 hours alone or 4 hours together or whatever, how??? This took us (2 people and eventually brought in a third) NINE HOURS. You need to book off the better part of a day to get this done. 2- DO NOT, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT, secure this to the wall before you attach the front and the piston arms. There is not a way to get them attached after it’s already on the wall. Learn from our mistake and save yourself 2.5 hours. Put them on first. 3- you will need at least two STRONG people to put this on the wall. You could do option two, but if you want brackets inside you must lift the entire structure up over the brackets after they are on the wall and slide it down. That takes a lot of muscle. For the cost, I will say it’s worth it. We did have to make one trip to the hardware store because we were shorted a crucial screw. The screws that anchor to the wall strip very easily. I would recommend replacing those with better quality wood screws if anchoring directly into the stud.

Assembled this bed yesterday. It does take about 4 hours but helpful if you someone else to assist. The materials are decent for this and I must say they must've listened to the reviews as the instructions are very clear. Each step has a QR code that will show them in video completing the step. Its very helpful. The bed moves smoothly up and down. There are many L brackets for extra support and its great so far! Its fairly easy to assemble just takes time and pay attention to where the boards are and the holes. Also 100% this has to be bolted to the wall which they provide. If you cant bolt it dont get it but otherwise looks great !!

This was a great Murphy bed until it failed. For buyers: be aware that this bed takes a significant amount of time to assemble. There are a lot of boards, screws, and steps involved, so setup will take a good portion of your day. We only used the bed a few times before it failed while a guest was sleeping on it. The pivot joint came out of place, causing one of the pistons to fully extend. Once those pistons fully extend, they cannot be compressed again. We purchased a replacement part and attempted to repair it, but then the other side failed as well. I contacted Merax through the Amazon help page, but they refused to provide support. They stated that because it was sold through Amazon, they would not assist with the warranty claim, even though the issue appears to be related to faulty parts. Overall, the bed works well until it doesn’t. Once it fails, you are left with a large, difficult-to-disassemble piece of furniture that may end up needing to be thrown away. It is disappointing that the company does not stand behind its own product or provide meaningful support for items sold through Amazon. Buyer beware.

Very nice murphy bed of excellent quality. Instructions were fairly easy to follow. But look out for the handle holes in the front panels. We missed it and they were upside down (near the floor) when we got to the last few steps. Too late to change the panels at that point, so we just drilled holes for the handles. It is also very hard to anchor to the wall with the bed section attached. All of that said, this is a nice piece of furniture and worth the money. It is a space-saver in a small room and we love it!

I love this bed. I bought it to put in my guest room. I hired someone to assemble it for me. It did take him a couple of days because it was an afterwork project and there were a lot of pieces during the assembly process. He opted to use togel bolts instead of the plastic anchors that came with the packet of screws to anchor the bed to the wall. That's because my wall is made with old school sheet rock and those bolts anchors the bed more securely. I notice a some of the reviews mentioned using alternative anchors. I was able to use my fullsize mattress fit perfectly. The bed sleeps comforatbly. It's easy to open and close. I love the latch that's added as an additional measure preventing the bed to fall open randomly. The great thing is all the pieces came with the bed, so no missing parts. The variouse material is good, the bed is sturdy, durable. I highly recommend this bed if you are looking for a good solid murphy bed.

Some of the panels/wood had small dents. I ended up painting the handles so it didn't look bad. I think it would be better if they had a full wood piece along the wall - it looks sort of weird and unfinished. Overall, worth the money. Easy assembly.
