So let’s get the criticisms out-of-the-way first. This bed took six hours for me to assemble. Steps five and steps, 19 CANNOT be done with one person. I had to enlist the help of the neighbor to hold pieces in place for the assembly – I mean, who can hold a piece underneath and screw it in from the top while holding two other pieces together From the base? That being said, everything was labeled really well! I did have to disassemble two sections and reassemble them in the right way because the instructions were not completely clear for part of the steps and putting two things backwards didn’t work, but fortunately the Next steps in the instructions caught the issue right away, so I wasn’t too far into it when I made the mistake. Most of the pilot holes are perfect and make things very easy. The instructions did say to hand tighten the bolts and screws, but there is absolutely no way I could have hand tightened everything so I did use a power drill with an Allen bit and with a screw. I did have to remove some of the stickers because the parts labels showed after assembly. The backing does not have any kind of pilot holes so the drill with screwdriver bit was absolutely necessary. Despite the aggravation and difficulty putting it together, the bed is beautiful! The folding hinges felt very tight when I was putting them on, but once they were attached, everything folds and unfolds easily with no binding. Our son visited last weekend and slept on the bed with a 6 inch folding mattress and was perfectly comfortable. I love how much space the folding bed provides when it is, plus the desk and built-in side tables and power outlets are very convenient. The bed is very sturdy and I have absolutely no worries that it is not going to stand up to use – it feels like high-quality wood and has lots of points of connection.

The basic construction of the bed is fine. It is sturdy and works well. With a six inch foam mattress, it is comfortable. Assembly took me about four hours. Two holes were not aligned correctly and had to be redrilled. One of the hinges for the folding legs was defective. I was able to buy a replacement on Amazon. The main disappointment is the finish. We bought the white model. The paint is mottled and uneven. We will be redoing the finish with cabinet paint. Knowing all of this I would look for a different cabinet bed, but would settle for this model if I couldn’t find anything better at a reasonable price.

Gave a four stars because of the quality and sturdiness once finally assembled. A D on assembly. Better have a drill, strength and logic putting this together. Pilot holes are off center, too small and not deep enough. That’s where a drill comes in. The inferior long, soft metal screws tightened with a long inadequate ale wrench that comes with it requires strength and precision or the bolt heads strip. Best to get American bolts from a hardware store. Product is nice once assembled. It a a large piece of furniture when not in use. Recommdation to the manufacturer is to make the leg/shelf with locking hinges so it can be lowered instead of a fixed shelf when not in use. Impressed with the engineering of this bed.

It was a little tedious to put together and yes as others mentioned the instructions are not the greatest but the result is worth it. And the price is very reasonable compared to others on the market.

We bought this for our airbnb. It's great! It took my husband and I about 4 hours to put it together. It's very sturdy. The shelf doubles as a work space and you can fit a bar height chair under it. The cabinet is wide about 2 feet plus the shelf making it about 3 feet out from.wall...in hindsight I may have preferred one without the shelf due to space constraints. We got a 6 inch yoga tri fold mattress with a 2 inch mattress topper on it and no complaints. Better than a pullout sofa, no bar in your back.

Item arrived with box open, retaped, and padding missing. Wood damaged and nicked. This thing was barely painted at the factory. Splotchy and truly terrible. This will cost money and take many hours. The holes didn’t match up and we had to redrill multiple holes. About 10 total. You NEED to a drill to assemble this. The holes are so poorly pre drilled that the hex key provided absolutely cannot assemble this monstrosity. You need a power drill and a hex key set for your drill. It’s also just a terrible design. Weak hinges and weak structure. The main base section relies mostly on the underside drawers for support. The desk shelf is also fixed and makes the whole thing stick out 40 inches into the room. Might as well just have a bed. DO NOT buy.

This took about 3-4 hrs to assemble. A bit confusing at times, the instructions/pictures aren't always clear. Was missing one screw and one bolt, glad my husband is handy. The bed seems sturdy enough, but probably going to ask that our guests only sleep on it, if you know what I mean. Will update review once we had our guest stay in it.
