Probably one of the best purchases I have made! We became empty nesters and I transformed one of our daughter’s bedrooms into my “she” office. I bought this Murphy bed desk combo and it’s been great! My husband is mechanically inclined, and I did warn him it may be hard to put together, but he said it was rather easy for “him” thankfully. The basic construction of the bed is fine. It is sturdy and works well. With a six inch foam mattress, it is comfortable. Assembly took me about four hours. Two holes were not aligned correctly and had to be redrilled. One of the hinges for the folding legs was defective. I was able to buy a replacement on Amazon. The main disappointment is the finish. We bought the white model. The paint is mottled and uneven. We will be redoing the finish with cabinet paint. Knowing all of this I would look for a different cabinet bed, but would settle for this model if I couldn’t find anything better at a reasonable price.

Gave a four stars because of the quality and sturdiness once finally assembled. A D on assembly. Better have a drill, strength and logic putting this together. Pilot holes are off center, too small and not deep enough. That’s where a drill comes in. The inferior long, soft metal screws tightened with a long inadequate ale wrench that comes with it requires strength and precision or the bolt heads strip. Best to get American bolts from a hardware store. Product is nice once assembled. It a a large piece of furniture when not in use. Recommdation to the manufacturer is to make the leg/shelf with locking hinges so it can be lowered instead of a fixed shelf when not in use. Impressed with the engineering of this bed.

So let’s get the criticisms out-of-the-way first. This bed took six hours for me to assemble. Steps five and steps, 19 CANNOT be done with one person. I had to enlist the help of the neighbor to hold pieces in place for the assembly – I mean, who can hold a piece underneath and screw it in from the top while holding two other pieces together From the base? That being said, everything was labeled really well! I did have to disassemble two sections and reassemble them in the right way because the instructions were not completely clear for part of the steps and putting two things backwards didn’t work, but fortunately the Next steps in the instructions caught the issue right away, so I wasn’t too far into it when I made the mistake. Most of the pilot holes are perfect and make things very easy. The instructions did say to hand tighten the bolts and screws, but there is absolutely no way I could have hand tightened everything so I did use a power drill with an Allen bit and with a screw. I did have to remove some of the stickers because the parts labels showed after assembly. The backing does not have any kind of pilot holes so the drill with screwdriver bit was absolutely necessary. Despite the aggravation and difficulty putting it together, the bed is beautiful! The folding hinges felt very tight when I was putting them on, but once they were attached, everything folds and unfolds easily with no binding. Our son visited last weekend and slept on the bed with a 6 inch folding mattress and was perfectly comfortable. I love how much space the folding bed provides when it is, plus the desk and built-in side tables and power outlets are very convenient. The bed is very sturdy and I have absolutely no worries that it is not going to stand up to use – it feels like high-quality wood and has lots of points of connection.

We bought this for our airbnb. It's great! It took my husband and I about 4 hours to put it together. It's very sturdy. The shelf doubles as a work space and you can fit a bar height chair under it. The cabinet is wide about 2 feet plus the shelf making it about 3 feet out from.wall...in hindsight I may have preferred one without the shelf due to space constraints. We got a 6 inch yoga tri fold mattress with a 2 inch mattress topper on it and no complaints. Better than a pullout sofa, no bar in your back.

Don’t recommend at all! 3rd party seller. Harder to get things done efficiently due to their company . Not professional at all. Terrible service . Bought more than one product from them and they wouldn’t return the unopened item with a prepaid label to return that was canceled before shipped and received . Disappointing . Had to pay for item to be shipped back to them which was the same price for the item. More work ,time and they didn’t care . and had to keep calling and messaging for a refund. Save yourself the hassle. Also the directions to put together are not the best .

This product is amazing. We really love the design and how solid it feels. The only reason we gave it 3 stars is because of the cosmetic damage to the bottom parts. Some parts seemed like they were not sanded down fully before being painted. We had a out 3 spots like a that. Mlyou can't really see them until you are putting it together and by then it's a big hassle to even bother with doing anything other than completing putting it together. Overall it's perfect for what we wanted. But it lost 2 stars because once you see the blemishes in the paint and on the bed you can't unsee it.
