Big positive: All the structural pieces are wood. There is very little MDF (back panels for cabinets mostly). How it ships: It comes in 5 boxes. Three are around 70 pounds, one was around 170 pounds. Positives: Most of the applied paint was in good condition. Didn't scratch easily. Most of the fitment was good. The murphy mechanism functions well. Negatives: - The lack of support under the center makes me nervous. If someone were to jump on the bed there's a chance it would break. It would be better if the bed frame itself were metal. or if there were a center support that would swing out when deploying the bed. - The instructions were not good. I have quite a bit of experience with flat-pack furniture. I got the orientation wrong on a few pieces requiring disassembly. They should provide a zoomed view in the picture of distinguishing marks to determine orientation. - The wall anchors are bad. You should always try to hit a stud or install blocking in the wall. If you can't use at least 1/4-20 Snap toggle bolts. - The instructions have you mount the shelf/cabinet that goes over the bed first. This is kind of silly. It uses a french cleat system that is solid, so I recommend getting the bed where it should be for proper anchoring first, then building and attaching the side cabinet, then the top. - The metal brackets that secure it to the wall are a very basic stainless color. I recommend covering the back with wall color paint, and the sides that attach to the cabinet with a color matched paint. - The routing for the USB strip lights isn't great. There should be a notch in the back of the panels for where it's supposed to go. - It comes with a pre-cut for common baseboard on the bed cabinet and side cabinet. Since it's all wood, it would be better to just cut it yourself with a jigsaw or oscillating tool. - The stickers with the part numbers don't come off easy. Had to scrape with a plastic scraper and wipe with mineral spirits to get the adhesive off. - With the instructions as they were and the number of pieces, this took me every bit of 16 hours to get it fully assembled, installed, and mounted (working alone for about 10 hours, teenager helped for 6). ... show more
