We just received and assembled this bed. Overall, we are very satisfied with this purchase. I'll attempt to address the pros and cons. First, the pros: Beautiful, dark chocolate/espresso color, sleek lines, well produced and packed to protect ends and edges in shipping, corners and inserts fit like a glove, requiring only the most gentle tap of a rubber mallet on one corner to adjust the squareness. Otherwise, pieces fit together beautifully. The cons: Someone needs to go back and re-look the threading accuracy of the pre-drilled holes on the headboard. They are not 100% square, and we had to do a little manual threading so that the screw fit squarely in. That one issue almost made us return this, because we chose to assemble the headboard first, and we worried our problem might be a harbinger of things to come. Luckily, it was not, BUT that does not let this manufacturers off the hook. A crooked thread that, if not handled gently, could crack a smooth piece, is a HUGE concern. We did a lot of deep breathing during this step. Second thing: No extra hardware. We were given exactly enough hardware to make this project happen. All other DIY kits come with extra hardware in case something doesn't turn out quite right. Again and luckily, we did not need it, but wow, we were holding our breath a little. Do we recommend this bed, despite our experience? Yes, because it is beautiful, and once put together, sturdy. We will be using a mattress and a low profile box spring, even though you could easily get away with just a mattress if you wanted. The supports under the mattress seem sturdy enough. The instructions state that the bed is rated to hold 800 pounds (including mattress and box spring), so just keep that in mind.

I followed the suggestion of another reviewer to insert part D while assembling the headboard. I was working in a small space and would not have room on either side to slide this piece into the slot. At this point you don't want to tap it down into place yet, just let it rest there. When you come to adding the side rail, lift part D, part D goes over the top of the side rail after the side rail is fitted into place. Part D was a very snug fit, I used a rubber hammer to tap it down. It needs to be level with the side rail. I made sure it was lined up before tapping it into place, it won't go in otherwise and you might damage the piece. One end of the center support attaches to Part D on the headboard end, if the foot of the metal leg does not touch the floor that tells you Part D is not inserted deep enough. I assembled this by myself, and I did use a cardboard box to give the side rail some height about in the middle. The box was like a third hand, so I could lift part D up out of the way while inserting the side rail. All the pieces came in good shape and all the pieces fit together nicely. I have slept on it for several nights now and I have not noticed anything being loose or wabbly. It did take me a little longer to assemble than others who have posted about this bed.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I felt inclined for this purchase! This bed is BEAUTIFUL, especially for the cost. It is made with solid construction, doesn’t squeak or wobble, and thankfully, mine was delivered without any damage. The Japanese wood joinery is simple and easy, and this was the simplest bed I have ever assembled. I was able to assemble the king frame by myself as a small 5ft woman. I think the trick to ensure everything is aligned well and avoid some of the problems other reviewers talk about is to use a rubber mallet. I thought for sure that the final piece was not correctly cut since I couldn’t get it to align by hand despite all the other pieces slipping easily into place, but one gentle smack with my tiny rubber mallet, and it slipped right in. It’s meant to be a tight fit so that the bed is sturdy. The support is good for myself, my husband, my three dogs, with a 10” mattress and 2” foam topper. The measurements were also accurate. This bed is a steal and looks and feels just as good as the beds you see the social media influencers buying for thousands. Highly recommend.

Ordered the Chocolate colored bed frame. It arrived in one box and all pieces were very well wrapped for protection. The assembly instructions are easy to understand. All parts are labeled and easy to identify. The basic assembly is pretty straight forward, but I needed a rubber mallet to force each side rail into the headboard legs. There is an opening on each leg where a side rail is supposed to slide through. The opening is slightly too small. Other than that, the bed is sturdy and looks good.

Just put this bed together yesterday by myself. Took me about 45 minutes and a good chunk of that was unpacking all the pieces. It's pretty simple to put together. Everything fit like it was supposed to. I would recommend inserting the lower headboard bar when you're putting together the headboard. The instructions say to do it later and it was little awkward. I've had one night's sleep on it and it felt very sturdy and supported. I like the height of the bed - it's easy to store items underneath the bed. My previous bed frame had a lip around the mattress, which added width/length, but I was always bumping my shin on it. This bed is flush with my mattress, so seems to take up less space and saves my shins. For the price, it looks nice, easy to assemble and feels solid - would recommend.

Beautiful piece. It looks elegant and mature while still being masculine and allowing a comfortable lived in feel. Assembly was easy, though admittedly help I called in immediately resorted to a rubber mallet to get the last pieces in place. Great investment. I will probably purchase again.
