I could not recommend this bed frame enough. This particular bed frame was much more affordable than any other bed frame that looked like this one. I was drawn to the mid-century modern style, and I love how this bed frame looked simple without being minimalist or boring. I also loved that this bed frame didn't require a box spring, there is a little bit of room under the bed for storage, and the color of the "wood" (bamboo) was exactly what I wanted. Shipping was much faster than I expected, which I was very pleased with. The box itself was heavy and awkward to move on my own, but I was able to unbox the bed frame and build it completely on my own. It took maybe ten minutes for me to get everything built up until the point that I had to add the stabilizing bar underneath the headboard - if you have already purchased this, you will know exactly what I'm talking about. I spent a lot of time frustrated on this part because I didn't have a second person to evenly distribute the weight, and I couldn't find my rubber mallet anywhere. I ended up using a rubber 10-lb dumbbell with a thick hand towel wrapped around it and basically hammered the piece in which did the trick easily. The rest of the frame was easy to assemble and doesn't require much hardware or any other tools. The pieces are smooth, solid, and didn't come covered in splinters or with any flaws. I was really pleasantly surprised by this. I bought this bed frame specifically because I got a new mattress - the mattress is large and really heavy and this bed frame has no issue supporting it. It doesn't move around or creak when there's movement on the bed, and I ultimately have no complaints. After about three weeks, it is holding up nicely and I still love it so much. I highly recommend this bed frame.

I bought the model in warm brown in double/full size. It was exactly as pictured and described. I was nervous about buying furniture through Amazon sight unseen, but this was a great experience (minus delivery). More on that later. A big shoutout/thank-you to Bailey n Alex's review. The suggestions were spot on and helped so much. I know I would have figured them out, but especially the advice about the headboard rail was extremely helpful. Assembly took one hour from unpack to walk away because I took my time and didn't force pieces. Never had to use a mallet. All pieces hand tightened. This is for the guest room so it hasn't been slept on yet. I'll post more when it has truly been used. I laid on it and rolled around to test noise, and it was quiet. Very impressed with the design, sturdiness, and style. Now about delivery. Not the seller's fault. FedEx left the box on a boardwalk in my apartment complex. Near my building, but not at my apartment. The box was dented and torn in places so I was a bit concerned, just as other buyers had mentioned. However, the bed is so well-packed there wasn't even a ding on it ANYWHERE! No thanks to FedEx, but definite thanks to Merax. If you're considering this bed, go for it. Well worth the price and then some. VERY happy with my purchase.

We originally bought this bed for our daughter’s college apartment, expecting something affordable and fairly basic. It ended up being a really pleasant surprise. Assembly was very quick about 10 minutes and everything went together easily without any issues. The quality is much better than we expected for the price. It’s sturdy, looks nice, and has held up well. Our daughter has had it for about six months and still really likes it. We were impressed enough that my husband and I ended up buying the king version in the darker wood for ourselves, and we’ve been just as happy with it. Overall, great value for the price. I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent quality bed, beautiful bamboo wood and sturdy. I couldn’t budge the heavy box on my porch so I had to open it there and carry pieces into the house and then up to the bedroom. I took my time assembling it. The only trouble I had was with the bar below the headboard, I wasn’t able to hammer it down using a mallet or any other way. I had to call a handyman to do the last bit. Very pleased with this bed, the price is so worth it, fairly easy to assemble, sturdy and gorgeous wood.

A very nice, quality bed frame! I’d hoped it’d be of good quality, but I think I was also expecting at least one minor issue. So I was pleasantly surprised when it surpassed my expectations and had no issues. Not even a scratch on the wood. The shipping box is very long and heavy, so it’s easiest to have another person help carry it. Mine’s shipping box was slightly beat up upon arrival, but the pieces inside are well-protected in styrofoam and wrapped up, so all pieces were undamaged when I unpacked them. All pieces labeled clearly. A whole bag of spare hardware is included (and is clearly labeled as spares). I had another person helping me with assembly, and I think I would have found some steps difficult without them. With another person, assembly was pretty easy and went very smoothly. Just pay attention to the orientation of the pieces. The instructions say you need a rubber mallet to push some of the pieces in place tightly, but we managed without one. There’s a lot of steps, so it took us some time to assemble, but it wasn’t complicated. Fully assembled, the bed frame looks very nice and of high quality. No wobbling/unevenness and it’s quiet. I’m very happy I purchased this one and recommend it.

I’m really happy with this Merax bamboo platform bed—it looks amazing and feels very solid for the price. Not bad for the money. Not as simple to put together: the board at bottom of headboard has to go down and lock in place EXACTLY and evenly on both sides. This takes two people. It is a tight fit and I expect that if you move often the slots in that board will wear unevenly or crack. If you never take it apart and reassemble, then no problem. Rest of frame seems fine. The center beam is metal which 3 metal support legs screwed in place. Put furniture sliders under these or they will bend if you move the bed on a carpeted floor. Finished wood is very nice. For the money—under $400–I recommend it.

I hate assembling furniture - but this bed is a breeze. There are only a handful of pieces and they fit together without the need for tools.
