I walk all day long outside for work and wanted a lightweight boot for the job. After two weeks of use, I noticed the heal of the boot was not supporting my foot. I pulled back in insole and noticed that the rubber supports under the insole at the heal had broken or were mashed down. This caused my foot to turn inward when walking. I just bought a new insole that I hope will be rigid enough to support my foot even with the broken support structure at the heal of the boot. Will have to see how it works out.

Very comfortable boots! They fit perfectly! Got about 3 years worth of major use out of them! And the nice thing about them is that they are water proof! I work around water every day! Thumbs up!

These are solid hiking boots. If I was planning on an extensive backpacking trip or scaling a rugged peak, I would want something made of real leather. For day hikes or treading through muddy fields, these would be great. Especially for the price. The uppers are made of some sort of artificial leather. It is obvious that the kaki-colored ones I requested are not genuine cowhide. They look like some sort of rubber. But they are easy to clean and the lining allows my feet to breathe comfortably. They also have an embedded reflective strip the makers claim makes you visible to others at night. I can't say how well this works because the strip can only be seen from a distance. The hard rubber sole has deep lugs which makes these perfect for muddy conditions. I have worn better ion lugged-soles, but at this price range, I am more than satisfied with the traction and protection these soles provide. At the end of the day, I think these are good for light-duty hiking or camping. I wish the uppers didn't look so synthetic, but I will wear these when I hit the trails with my dog or when I volunteer for work projects at a nearby ranch.

When I got these hiking boots they cost $30, which is a good value for what I got. I've worn them twice. The first time was for a 2.5 mile walk on an outdoor trail around a local golf course. The boots were snug on my ankles and a bit loose everywhere else. That is probably because I was wearing cotton casual socks and not thicker socks for hiking. The soles of the boots are rugged, and I noticed not feeling any of the trail on our walk, which is good. The upper materials seem nice quality synthetic, so they look great but are clearly not leather (which I would not expect for $30). I solved the slightly loose feeling with an inexpensive insert, which is what I normally do on all my shoes and the snugness and comfort improved. On another day I wore these to work (desk job) and did not experience as much ankle discomfort, but then I wasn't walking around much that day. So, that will be the test for me... Does the boot eventually conform to my ankle so that it is comfortable or not. Only time will tell. Overall, though, I think this is a nice quality pair of boots for only $30, and they come in several colors so it wouldn't be too expensive to have a few of them for different outfits and situations.

These boots are perfect for hiking which was the reason we got them. My 10 year of son uses them and says they are comfortable for all the hiking we do which is easy to moderate. I would definitely recommend these boots.

These are a decent pair of hiking boots that are actually lightweight and comfortable for trail walks. I like them because of the extra (perceived) room at the toe end and the mesh lining helps to keep my feet from sweating. Given these are boots, there is good ankle support and the sole is pliable and flexes easily, even with its aggressively textured bottom. The fit, for me, was as expected (with respect to sizing). While there was some exposure to water, these boots were not completely submerged underwater, but they did keep my feet dry for the brief periods they were wet.
