I wanted to add some background colors to my living area so I got an 8 pack of these. Comes with multiple remotes which is an awesome plus. A number of times I've found a new place to put a bulb and I go to the box to find it empty, I've deployed all 8 of them already! I tested each color with a Kilowatt power tester, and not surprisingly, white is the brightest color at 3.9 watts. The other colors diminish in power draw down to Red at 2 watts. So they draw very little energy, you can use them as night lights and leave them on without worry of a high electric bill. They are low to medium bright, perfect for small shaded lamps or porch lights. The remotes work perfectly, there are fade and strobe modes too. Two issues…if you use them for normal light, they aren’t very bright (if you’re used to daytime bright lights) and if you have multiple different things that are color changing, sometimes the remote on this changes the other lights and the other remote changes these lights, but not every time.

Everyone is in love with these light bulbs. Everyone in my house has their own remote and these bulbs do all kinds of cool stuff. I like how we can turn them on and off without getting up, obviously, but I especially like the dimming function. One remote will operate all bulbs. I've replaced most of our old bulbs with these, even the ones outside and it's been a few months and everything is still working great. It's a big box for the money, I even ordered another and gave my parents a couple bulbs and remotes. 2 boxes is 8 remotes, we would never use that many in my house so it's nice to have extras. If you think the colors are going to be too crazy for your house as I thought, there is a few light shades of blues, purples, and pinks that are actually really pretty. These pastel shades actually don't bother me at all and I use those colors just as much as plain white. My son figured out "party mode" I think by holding down "s" and the up button. It makes all the bulbs cycle thru all the colors, but super fast like a strobe light. He does this often as a joke and I'm sure my neighbors think I've lost my mind, no regrets! I don't normally leave reviews but I am super impressed with these bulbs. ... show more

They are lights, and they do change colors. You put them in the socket, turn on the socket, then push the button you want. There are on and off buttons, two shades of white, 11 other colors. Some kind of timer, I haven't tried yet. There is a setting that switches through the 11 colors, and buttons to control the speed. There is another button for color phasing, that transitions through the colors, so it fades from one to another. If you turn off power to the socket, the bulb remembers what you set it to, so you can set multiple bulbs in the same room to do different things. Or you can control them all at once with the remote, provided that they are in range. Dim white is the dimmest, Regular white seems to be the brightest. The other colors are between those two. They aren't blindly bright, so that's good, as you can just add more bulbs to up the brightness. ... show more

Now brightness could be more but if u have multiple of these in a room it will settle with that color. Downside after maybe 2-3 months of using the remotes stop changing the colors and you'll have to swap them out but for the money and even lasting a few months is kind of like buying regular light bulbs these just have the color features. If they reacted to sound or had a color strobe for like parties this would be dope ... show more
