First, the mattress was delivered a day early on a weekend. Next, opening the package there was minimal styrofoam BUT it was in bags so no pieces flying and sticking to everything. Then, the instructions were very simple with great pictures and everything was packaged very nicely in the box which made it easier to assemble. The wooden slats are the absolute best part of this company, the first piece has a hole for a small wooden dowel which holds it in place, PLUS all of the wooden slats Velcro to the frame. AMAZING. Putting the bed back on the frame with the slats usually is the hardest part but with the Velcro you can slide it right on. All in all, the entire unbox, assembly, and clean up took an hour. I put this bed together start to finish in under an hour. The pieces are well marked. Packaging was done well and the styrofoam was wrapped so you don’t get little bits of it stuck to everything when your kids decide to break it. Comes with rubber pads to go on the bottoms of each leg. I love that all the hardware assembles from inside the frame so I didn’t have to move it around, in the tiny space, to try to access hardware. Instructions are crystal clear. Bed itself seems sturdy. I don’t think it’s up for any kids jumping on it, but we are using in our guest room so it should be fine for that. The finish isn’t quite as polished as one might hope, but for the price it is more than acceptable. Overall great product, easy painless assembly and nice looking frame. Arrived sooner than expected. Very easy to assemble. For just over $150, it was what I needed to hold my mattress and be able to be connected to an antique headboard. My grandparent's bedroom set had a headboard and over the years, the rails and footboard were all broken/lost. We had reinforced the headboard "legs" with a good solid plank of wood, as they had been drilled/re-drilled over 100 years to accept different rails. I purchased the wider width option --12" Grand, in Cherry Finish. This wider frame allowed for us to "sister" the solid plank that was attached to the headboard to the head rail of the new fame. In the pics, you see the headboard plank is resting on the floor; we simply positioned the headboard and head of the frame together, clamped them and drilled through both and attached with lag bolts/nuts. I do not lean/sit up against this headboard, as I don't think the old legs would hold the weight. But the frame itself is sturdy/heavy enough to let the headboard stand on its own and still be enjoyed with the rest of the bedroom set. Very happy, would recommend. :-) ... show more

I have slept on this bedframe for just about 3 months at the time of my review and am very pleased with it. This wooden bedframe caught my attention because of it's price, being wood instead of metal, and for it's simple design. Most of what is available at this price tends to be cheap, tubular metal bedframes, while this is a solid wooden one. Once I received it, it was easy to put together. The directions are straightforward and the pieces are shaped to only fit together in the correct way. All the pieces were well finished - they were sanded smooth and fit together well. After it was assembled, the bedframe feels very solid. No noises or rocking. The bedframe is sturdy and quiet when getting into bed, out of bed, or when rolling over from side to side. After about a month I pulled my mattress back off to check all the bolts holding it together, and I was happy to see none of them had loosned, which is a good sign for it's long-term durability. Other reviews had mentioned concerns with the slats being too far apart for their mattress but I have not had any issues. My mattress is a pocketed coil mattress and even while laying on the bed my mattress only slightly sags between them. Overall I am completely satisfied with this bedframe. It looks and feels nicer than it's price, and so far has been completely sturdy and quiet. ... show more

I’ve had this for approximately 6 months by now, have a very heavy mattress, and as it was an ultraplush it was massively tall with the box springs so this platform base really makes it a normal height. Solidly made, and easy to assemble with the included ratchet. We don’t have a headboard attached as we did with our metal frame but would presume it would still pass the quiet stress test if you know what I mean ;). Virtually sound free! ... show more

I was very impressed on how well the product was packaged and the excellent layout of the instructions. Everything went together seamlessly and I am thoroughly enjoying sleeping on this frame.
