Let’s start with delivery and packaging. The driver noticed the box was damaged offered to refuse delivery for me on those grounds. I declined and said I’d take my chances, I REALLY needed a bed. When I opened the box. The bed was double boxed so the damage we was was superficial and I believe was designed to protect the product. Then I opened the box and each piece was packed and protected very carefully. Even the styrofoam spacers were wrapped in sealed bags to protect from breaking into tiny bits that ball up and roll all over your house. A lot of packaging and may be a bother to some ppl, but I loved it. We get the bed to the room to be assembled. Directions and pieces were so clear and labeled, it took two ppl 20 mins to get it together, mostly because we were already tired from a day of unpacking so our brains were fried, but we agreed that it would probably have been faster if we weren’t so tired physically and mentally. The bed is sturdy. I have a Sleep Number mattress which is supposed to rest on a SN Base and this bed holds up to it perfectly without the SN Base. I’ve slept two night without any pressure adjustment issues. It comes with grips to hold it in place on the floor. Only activity has been sleep but I am very pleased so far. Some older reviews say the feet don’t meet the floor. I think the design has improved in the 1-2 years that those reviews were made. Their is a slight gap in the support beam in the middle and I mean really only small enough for a sheet of paper to slip through. I think it’s to offer give to distribute weight when the mattress is on and presumably the weight of two ppl is on it. It’s resolved when I put the mattress on. I have a few spinal injuries so I end up being kind of a princess and the pea type of sleeper -I’ve been very comfortable.

Will add to this later but assembled this yesterday with my daughter - beautiful, sturdy - real, solid natural wood!! I did a LOT of research to find something sturdy, affordable, attractive, with slats not far apart (I measured and these are 3” pretty much exactly!) and so glad we picked this one. Not only are the outside part of the frame and the legs super sturdy, but the slats are pretty sturdy too (a different wood but not flimsy plywood which I was thinking they would be for some reason). Very well laid out materials and pretty good instructions (would love a little more detail for those of us who don’t do this all the time, but way better than most) — provided a real, easy to use Allen wrench that tightens and untightens (and also one of the simple ones). Fits beautifully with the 14” foam mattress. The ONLY thing I don’t love is that because the mattress sits on top of the frame instead of in it a little (like some of those uhholstered ones do), even with the tape that comes on the wooden slats, when you move the bed the mattress slides a little unless you really just move the frame (which is heavy because it’s sturdy!!)…. But how often are you moving a bed around? Came in a tall narrow box, so it wasn’t too unwieldy to carry inside… The darker espresso color would have matched some of the wood in the room better but it was more expensive at the time and we really love cherry anyway. And it is beautiful - glad we picked that one!!

I purchased the Natural Pine colored/stained bed platform and it looks like the photo. It's sturdy and looks very nice. Assembly was pretty easy, but there were a few minor hitches I thought I'd make known, and which almost made me give a four- and not five-star rating. 1. There were a couple bolts that with the little ring and disk did not screw in, so I had to eliminate the ring. 2. Other bolts I had to be careful to screw them in just the right amount, so they would just begin to feel tight, because if I did one more crank of the wrench they would be become lose again to again where it just becomes tight. 3. There are rubber tips for the legs and one assumes what one is to do with them, but it isn't in the instructions. Also, the adhesive is in adequate and the tips don't stay on so I had to use Gorilla Glue. 4. There center metal support bar has felt on one side, and one can assume whether the felt should face up or down, but that isn't in the instructions. 5. I called the number on the instructions to get an assembly question answered, got a prompt to leave a message with my name, number and email address, which I did along with my question. Never heard back. In the end these issues were minor, and I really like the product for a good price so far.

I love this bed frame so much! I asked my dad to come over to help me put it together, and he thought I paid 3 times as much for it as I actually paid. It is great quality, so sturdy, and it looks really nice. I followed the advice of other reviewers and got the plain finish to be sure all the pieces would fit together right, and everything fit together perfectly. I would recommend getting a second person to help you set it up, so you can make sure that the slats are lined up right when you lay them down on the velcro. I just love it, it transformed my room.

This is the second of these frames I've bought, and I'm pleased to say they've made some slight improvements to it (namely, the "extra" hardware included is labeled as such so you aren't confused when you have one extra of each bolt and a handful of washers at the end!). Unfortunately, one of the parts wasn't drilled all the way through, and one of the threaded inserts was not installed straight, which lead to some assembly frustrations and one bolt that is, uh, never going to be able to tighten. Hopefully it won't be an issue long term, and it's in a guest room so it won't see as much use as most beds. @ Mellow - if you read this, light curtains are an effective "go/no go" QC procedure to make sure all your through holes are actually drilled through! No human error required!
