We had purchased a soft top canopy for the pool deck last year for $169. That lasted 8 months. So this year I ordered the 12x14 Polycarbonate roof gazebo. I wanted the poly instead of the aluminum top to allow some day light to come through. It arrived in 4 boxes. I opened the boxes and spread out the parts and "read" the directions. I read the reviews about assembly but my wife is the mechanically inclined one of us and we weren't intimidated. The directions are mostly pictures but the parts were clearly marked which made assembly a breeze, until it was time to slide in the roof panels. That was the biggest pain in this job. It was tough to get them all aligned properly so that the end caps fit. But we muddled through it and 6 hours later, we were done. We did not work fast and my wife double checks everything, otherwise it would have taken 5 hours (with power tools). Everything fit and all the holes were in the right place. It seems really sturdy but we have not had much wind lately. We haven't had much rain either so I can't speak about that. Some reviews said it was too hot under it but I live in south Georgia and we have had some hot days and sitting under it was just fine. We did purchase a hanging gazabo fan and put some LED light strips and so far it is a wonderful addition.

good instructions takes two people to put together and a couple of days very tedious work and follow instructions or you will have to undo.

The shipment arrived with a few broken corners on the roof but it did not affect the install and finished quality. It was very minimal damage. Love the look of it and size. Took my very handy husband about 8 hours to install. It’s super light weight so must be anchored down.

I was a bit concerned after reading the reviews about missing or damaged parts. Luckily mine turned out undamaged. I put together it by myself, took a couple of hours. The only kind of complain i have is, quality of 10 mm bolts. Set your drill to low power mode. Another one is roof- very workable material, but under sun black gets super hot, but i guess other roofs would do the same give or take. Overall its a good buy for the money.

WARNING. I wish my contractor would have declined putting it up so we could return it. It’s VERY TOP HEAVY. Not sturdy. I can push it lightly with my hand and move the entire thing. Now we have to figure out how to stabilize and spend more to do so.

All you get is a manual with pictures. Some pages have a one or two liner with advice, but that doesn't tell you all you need to know. You learn when you did it wrong and have to re-do all you did in the last couple hours. Screw holes don't line up brackets pop off multiple times...we finally had to tape them on.... It just isn't easy and we worked 5 long days to get it done! I bought a Sojag for our last house and we had it up in a day and a half. That was top quality! Sojag doesn't make a 12x18, so we went with this company because it looked the same. If you want to get this one, just be prepared to put effort, time and frustration into the assembly.
