Works good on a lot of grime like bugs, but didn’t get older sap off well at all. I wouldn’t recommend for sap. Just bugs and other grime.

Why did I think this would work like magic? It didn't. I took it to the car wash thinking I could spray it on then spray off with the high power setting, but the directions say not to let it dry first. Well, by the time I got it all sprayed and went back with the water, it was bone dry. I had a lot of small tar dots and bugs all over from a trip. I took a towel and rubbed it and most of it came off, but I thought it was more the rubbing. Maybe this is a good product and I just did not use it right or something, but was disappointed. I think a plastic scrubber and soap might do the same thing. Not all tar/bugs gone, and I felt like it was mostly the scrubbing that got then off anyway. It has been overly hot here, so maybe that is why it dried so fast. I will use the rest of the can because it is there, but probably won't try this (or other similar) products again. ... show more

I havent used a bug n tar remover in a long time. Went looking for one, I know this brand has been good for me in the past. It sprays on as a foam, let it sit a moment and wipe/rub the spot and it handled bugs and tar with relative ease. You cant beat it for the cost. I would recommend it.

Unfortunately, this product doesn't work on sap. I needed to remove some blobs of sap from a pine tree that had dripped on the hood of my car. I found and chose this product by searching Amazon for "bug, tar and sap removers" and I assumed that tar would be similar to sap, so this bug and tar remover should work. This turned out to be incorrect. To be fair, the actual label on the bottle doesn't mention tree sap. I ended up buying this product because of the description of how gentle it was on paint. Unfortunately, it's also very gentle on sap. It just left streaked sap marks. I found an old bottle of Turtle wax bug, tar and sap remover that I was trying to replace. That worked. ... show more
