Works phenomenally! I wanted something I could use before driving my car through the auto wash in the winter. It really helped remove bugs from the front of my car. You have to pre mix it though, that way it will last longer and so you can spray it on.

I used this bug and tar remover on my Crosstrek. Front bumper and lower door panels had bugs and some tiny tar pimples. I have a bug an d tar sponge. The bugs come off great, and my spray bottle dilution as recommended 6:1. Tar did not budge after 3-5 min presoak. I added more product to my spray bottle and it helped, but I still had to fingernail the stretched tar on my paint and rub way harder that likely will scratch my paint. SO I used a fresh microfiber rag with undiluted product. This seemed to work better. So this product is not well suited for tar. A great bumper and panel presoak, it works, but tar is heavier as it dries hardened. So prefer to have a petro-based paint safe product for tar that does not damage clear coating. I suggest "Klean Strip interior Odorless Mineral Spirits" for more effective against tar and wash panel thereafter then apply protection again. ... show more

Parked my SUV under a mulberry tree for nearly a week, and had thousands of brown sap spots on the white paint and on the windows. Just scrubbing and washing would have taken a week to get it all… believe me I tried. I order this bug and tar remover, I rewashed with the bug and tar remover mixed with the car wash soap I normally use. Most of the sap disappeared with the first wash, the bigger/more stubborn sap spots came off with a little gentle pressure in the second wash. ... show more

I love all chemical guy products. I now live near the redwoods which make a unique dark sap that drips onto cars. I washed my truck with a chemicals guys kit and used their soap. After that first wash, I then tried spot cleaning with this product and I did not have the effect of lifting the stains. I had to clay bar the stains off. Excellent product just recently used it. Drove 4 hours to visit our niece. Once we got there noticed bug splatter on the front of our car and windshield. I took with me the bottle of the chemical guys bug and tar remover. Rinse the front of our car with water then use the bug and tar remover mix in a spray bottle with water. This stuff is great! I am a paint contractor so my van only gets hand washed a few times a year. I had about 4 months of bug and tar cooked on, from the summer sun and this product removed it with ease. Bonus for me I had acrylic paint from different jobs, splattered on the surface. This product even removed it too. The price is very fair. I use it in a spray bottle and apply it directly to the problem areas.
