Put the eggs in after unit had got to the correct temperature and turned my back and smelled smoke and turned around and was smoke rolling out of it like a freight train.. was melting plastic at the heating element area.. would have burned our house down.. glad It did it while I was home or I would be homeless... sent back and hopefully they get that problem corrected... ruined my eggs I was trying to hatch!! ... show more

    • Humidifier not working
The humidifier doesn’t work properly at all. It doesn’t keep the humidity consistent. I placed eggs into lockdown and 2 days later the humidity dropped into the 20s despite a full bottle of water attached. Not sure if any of these eggs will hatch now and I’m not happy about it.

I have two incubators running right now. This one has a great feature: it can easily maintain the correct humidity level thanks to the water-bottle humidity attachment. If the humidity goes above or below your set level, the bottom of the humidity bottle will light up for a few moments to alert you. I haven’t had any issues keeping a steady humidity level, except when I repeatedly open the incubator lid to candle the eggs. The portion that has proven to be the most helpful for me is the automatic flipping function. After loading the tray and adjusting the fundamental settings, I am able to go about my day without having to worry about whether or not I forgot to flip the eggs. During the morning and nightly checks that I do on them, I am able to see that the eggs have already been flipped according to the timetable and are not remaining in the same position for an excessive amount of time. During the course of the three weeks, this has not only helped me save a significant amount of time, but it has also relieved me of the burden of not having to remember to return every few hours. After using it for a whole batch, I identified the independent atomizing humidifier as the second significant benefit that I discovered. When I was younger, I would often add or remove water, and I would make educated guesses about whether or not the moisture level was at the appropriate level. I have found that once I get everything set up with this unit, the moisture that is contained inside does not fluctuate drastically from one place to another. During the crucial last days, when the chicks are getting ready to emerge from their shells, the circumstances remain the same from daylight till night, even if the weather outside is quite a bit different. This was something that I was able to see quite clearly. The first time I used the machine, I purposefully filled every possible spot with eggs from my flock that were of all ages and sizes. I wanted to test how forgiving the machine would be. In spite of the fact that the mixture was less than optimal, the majority of the eggs successfully matured, and a substantial proportion of them hatched on the same day or within a short window of time. On the second run, I gathered a batch that was more consistent and collected over a shorter period of time.
