I bought these for my grandfather so he could watch TV without disturbing my grandmother. His old headphones lasted nearly a decade, but the leather was worn out. Their new TV has an optical port, so I wanted headphones that would let Grandma use the TV speakers normally. Setup was easy: I plugged the transmitter into the TV's USB port and placed the charging pad on the nightstand. The TV outputs audio through both the speakers and optical port, so Grandma can mute the speakers without affecting Grandpa's headphones. This is a big plus. The charging pad is great for older folks who struggle with small cables, and I appreciate the built-in power switch. I disabled the touch controls to keep things simple, since Grandpa rarely adjusts the volume once it's all set. These sound and feel like decent music headphones, a big improvement over his older ones. I only tried them briefly, but I'd happily use them myself. They also connected to my phone easily via Bluetooth, so the transmitter is completely optional. Overall, these are solid TV headphones that work well for both older users and anyone else.     • Strong Performance After a Surprisingly Tricky Setup
The MEE Audio Cinema 3D TV Headphones bundle has a lot of promise on paper — but the transmitter doesn’t quite live up to the “works with any TV” claim. Once everything is finally running, the sound quality is excellent, and the headphones themselves are comfortable for long viewing sessions. But getting to that point took more work than I expected. The biggest challenge was the setup. My TV didn’t send audio to the transmitter right away, so I had to dig through menus to force it to use the external output. Even after that, the TV occasionally reverted back to its own speakers, which made the process feel inconsistent. The transmitter itself wasn’t as intuitive as I hoped. It wasn’t immediately clear which input mode it was using, and pairing required a couple of resets before the headphones finally connected. Once everything locked in, it stayed stable — it just took a little patience to get there. That said, the audio performance is solid. ANC works well for TV watching, spatial audio adds a nice sense of depth, and the wireless charging pad is wonderful to have. If you’re comfortable troubleshooting or already familiar with TV audio quirks (which I was not), you’ll probably be fine. If you’re expecting a simple, out‑of‑the‑box experience, be prepared for a little patience. ... show more

The MEE audio Cinema 3D TV Headphones have the affordable quality and simplified answer I wanted to the vexing problem of my husband and me trying to concentrate on separate things without distraction while still enjoying being in the same room, relaxing together. I watched the set-up videos on the listing and then called a good friend who is a tech guru, who came over, read the instructions, watched the videos, and quickly got everything working and paired smoothly with our TV. He patiently walked us through the usage steps while I took notes, read the notes to him, he corrected my misunderstandings, and then my husband and I each took a turn using the headphones and the various controls, which are easy to use. I especially appreciate the ability to just put my hand over the touch panel on the headphones to block the sound when I want to listen to what my husband is saying to me without pausing what I'm watching on the TV and to raise or lower the volume by just swiping up or down on the touch panel. They are comfortable to wear for an extended period of time, and when my husband is using the headphones instead of me, he finds it easy to adjust them to his particular listening preference. ... show more

The volume on these is super low. I have to turn it all the way to hear it. It does a good job noise cancelling around me but the sound quality is great-the sound volume is just absurdly low. I do not think this is a good deal.

This is a quality product that fit perfectly for our needs. The comfortable ear pads are very thick and of nice quality. The setup was relatively easy and we were able to pair it to our device without any issues at all. The sound is really clear and very enjoyable. The battery life is also a great selling feature with this product. I do recommend these headphones, for the cost they really are of a great quality. ... show more

    • Comfortable, capable, and just a couple gripes
Okay, lots to talk about here. First of all, the fist impression is great -- the headphones feel solid and high quality, the padding is soft and comfortable, the over-ear fit is perfect, and just like it says, it works right out of the box. It comes really nicely packaged with a great set of gadgets to connect it to just about any TV: 3.5mm jack, RCA audio, and even optical. There's a bluetooth transmitter included, as well as a magnetic charger that snaps right onto the left earpiece. The included bluetooth transmitter works well, though the volume is a bit low initially compared to when it pairs to a phone. It comes pre-paired (prepared?) to the included transmitter, which is a nice touch. It also works fine with the cheap generic transmitter I usually use for flights. The transmitter has a "power" input, which led me to believe it had to be plugged in, but it does apparently have a battery in there, so I see no reason you wouldn't be able to use this on-the-go for things like flights, either. I love that the bottom of the transmitter is rubberized so it doesn't slip around so much. The active noise cancellation seems effective, though I haven't had an opportunity to try it on a plane yet. I did try it with white noise and ocean wave sounds, which some people like to sleep with, and though you can definitely still tell that the background noise is there, it does actually dampen them. A couple things I can't get over: Most importantly, sometimes there's a faint static crackle in noise cancellation mode. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but when it's there it's present whether or not I'm connected to bluetooth and no matter which bluetooth device I'm connected to. It's not really noticeable when music is playing, but if you're the type that likes active noise cancellation for peace and quiet (like on an airplane, for example), then it might be a bit distracting. The crackle starts when it's turned on and stays audible even after switching through noise cancelling off to transparency and back to noise cancelling mode. Fortunately, though, I can reliably remove the crackle by covering the right earpiece to activate and then deactivate the mode that pauses and lets you pay attention to the outside world. (That "Quick Conversation Mode" is awesome, by the way -- super easy and intuitive.) The 3D sound feature is pretty cool -- it basically pans the sound right or left so it sounds like it's always coming from the direction of the TV (or whatever is in front of you when you turn it on). It even works if it's behind you. You can tap the right earpiece to recenter it. It has standard answer/hangup/next/prev/etc controls accessible on the right earpiece, too. They're pretty intuitive. You can diable the right earpiece touch panel, which is handy if you prefer tactile controls. It allows multipoint and Auracast, too, so it has a really capable set of features. I just wish I could figure out how to disable the voice prompts -- they sound nice and all, but once you get used to these headphones they really just get in the way. The jury is still out on battery life, but I've been listening for hours today after a fresh charge and I'm still at 90%. Overall I'm pretty happy with this, with just a couple of gripes. I'd prefer better noise cancellation (and no crackles) at this price point, but I think overall it's still a reasonable value. ... show more

These MEE audio Cinema 3D TV Headphones are a fantastic upgrade for watching TV without disturbing anyone. Setup was easy and the wireless transmitter paired instantly with the headphones. The sound is rich and immersive with solid bass and clear dialogue, and the spatial audio really makes movies feel more lifelike. Active noise canceling helps block out background noise, and the wireless charging base is a convenient touch. Battery life lasts through long movie nights, and LDAC/aptX Adaptive support gives very good audio quality. Great choice if you want comfortable, wireless TV listening at home. ... show more
