  • Wheels remove easily. Detachable elevating leg/feet rests. Medline model MDS806300H2.
I bought this wheelchair for my father and was very happy. Medline makes several similar Hybrid 2 models (with 6 wheels) which convert to transporters (with 4 small wheels) by popping off the 2 large wheels. The large wheels remove and reinstall very easily. This model, Medline # MDS806300H2, is the only one with detachable elevating leg/feet rests. I.e., the leg/feet rests can each be move independently from the position shown in the picture to a slightly higher angle (say from around 20 degrees from vertical as shown to maybe 40 degrees, roughly speaking. Because this model has the elevating leg rests it is probably the "thinking man's" choice, since similar Hybrid 2 models without elevating leg rests cost about the same I believe. The armrests are "desk" style made to fit under or closer to a desk or table, and are easily removable. My car, a Ford Fusion Hybrid, has a smaller trunk than the typical non-hybrid Camry, Accord, Altima etc., but by temporarily removing the chair's large wheels and the leg/feet rests everything would fit easily into the trunk along with my Dad's walker. At a nominal weight of 33 lbs. this wheelchair is fairly easy to manage and I'm so glad it fits easily in the trunk. This seems like a well made product. Whether it is suitable for long term heavy duty use is a question I cannot answer. Medline makes a complete line of wheelchairs for all kinds of uses and patient weights. For my father, who had an operation on his foot, this should certainly do fine for the time it takes him to recuperate. P.S. July 22, 2013: 1. I've been using this wheelchair several times a week for two months to take my father here or there, mostly to doctors' offices or relatives. It is holding up nicely and the wheels show no real signs of wear. However, I have used it only in transport mode, i.e. with the large wheels removed. This is more convenient since the chair is then significantly narrower and lighter. I noticed that my father's foot doctor has two of these in his office for patient use. 2. I should mention that I bought this from Amazon itself, which is the most expensive alternative (I paid 322 USD). I did this because I wanted to be sure I got exactly the model (# MDS806300H2)I wanted with the elevating leg/feet rests. If I didn't get that model I knew it would be easy to return it free to Amazon for a full refund. With third party vendors selling through Amazon, let alone elsewhere, I'm not so sure I'd have such easy recourse. And Amazon ships promptly the way they say they will, in my experience. 3. An interesting note is that the many pictures I've found on the web for the model MDS806300H2, including the one on Amazon.com, are not the correct pictures, since if you look closely they do not show only fixed non-elevating leg/feet rests. Even Medline.com does not show a correct picture of this particular model, although the description of the leg rests as elevating is correct. Maybe I can add a picture of the model MDS806300H2 and a close up of the actual leg rests for clarification when I have a chance. ... show more

  • So many options: great workmanship.
Purchased this for my grandmother for inhome use but love the option of removing the wheels to make it weigh less and smaller width for door frames. I've been a Medline (v Angelica) customer for many decades. They never let you down.

  • Practical and Portable!
I purchased this wheelchair for my father so that he could be comfortable and on the go despite his Parkinsons. I am a small person, and can lift this wheelchair into the trunk with some effort, but manageable. He can roll right up to the table at restaurants. It has worked well for us!

  • Better than expected!!!!!!
Chose this because of the flex usage of the product. I have disc problems in back which causes legs to go numb if standing longer than a few minutes. This unit provides ease of set up, removable large wheels for transport and use as a transporter. Excellent design and a great value. Foot pads and supports are easy on or off. Large wheels remove with a simple push of the center button on the wheel. Both wheels on or off in thirty seconds or less. They have a winner in this unit!!!!!!!!!!!! ... show more

Best we have had. Comfortable, sturdy, portable and not too heavy. Leg supports are easy on and off. They can be elevated. Love it.

  • other than that we are satisfied.
The wheelchair is working out well except it was pulling to the right and the right brake keeps having to be adjusted, other than that we are satisfied.

  • Fantastic Wheelchair
It's perfect! My mom loves it. I was so nervous ordering this wheelchair for her, without knowing much else about it. The reviews were great, so I took the plunge. It is a very nice and sturdy wheelchair. Went to the hospital today and this one was nicer than the one they had there for patients to use. I'm impressed. Total recommend. ... show more
