I have this and a olive green Littmans, and to be honest I prefer the mdf. It's more vibrant and colorful but also I have no issues hearing small sounds, as a working cna, I've no issues using this for blood pressures, I've let nurses and doctors alike borrow it and none have had any complaints even receiving praise from a few. This is a great product for the price. The sound quality is great for new medical students which is what I purchased it for, or even long-term medical careers. It is very lightweight, and I like that you can choose from a variety of colors and make it personal.

I love the way this stethoscope works. I can hear great through them. My only con is that all the light colors such as the pink I got seen to get dirty quickly and it's impossible to clean them. I want to get another one but a darker color

I work as a HHA and I do vitals everyday, but only a few people a day. This is perfect for that. Eventually when I become a RN I would want a more expensive one since I’ll use it more often. For the mean time this will do! No issues and I hear everything well. If you can’t hear a pulse, try moving it around to a different spot—sometimes the pulse is hidden ... show more

I purchased this for nursing school and it works perfectly. It comes with a name tag and extra ear pieces. It’s easy to use and you can hear lung sounds and heart beats great in it.

I am a rising 2nd year medical student and I bought this stethoscope in case I lost my Littman Classic III. The Acoustica is much lighter compared to the Littman, likely due to it being composed more out of aluminum/lighter metal instead of stainless steel. However, though the Acoustica is lighter, it does not sound as loud compared to the Littman and heart beats are not as readily picked up compared to the Littman. The Acoustica can hear heartbeats but I think it would be hard to detect heart murmurs on patients, especially if the patients have more adipose tissue in their thoracic region. With manual blood pressure measurements, the Acoustica can hear the Korotkoff sounds just fine. I have not tested the MD One offered by MDF or any higher tiered stethoscopes but I imagine that they would sound clearer than the Acoustica. In my opinion, if you are a new nurse or a new medical student and your ears have not been attuned to abnormal heart sounds, I would choose one of the higher tiered stethoscopes. Perhaps MDF Procardial would serve well for easy detection of heart murmurs? I have yet to try it. I believe I will stick to the Littman Classic that I have now if I am going to be doing a cardiovascular exam on patients. ... show more

A great scope for the money. Sound and comfort in the ears are a five star. My only issue is the scope is very light and I personally like my scope to be a bit heavier for comfort around my neck but others may like the light weight.

Bought this as a replacement for my Littman. I only use my stethoscope for a few minutes per shift, so I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. It is fine for the price, but sometimes I feel like I don’t hear anything at all. Don’t expect it to live it up to more expensive stethoscopes.
