I was a bit skeptical at first I have to admit but you know for the money I spent on this, I'm pretty happy with the purchase. This really is not the lowest tier in cutlery but maybe second, third or fourth. The average person will be pretty happy with these as would someone who likes to prep and cook their meals cuz there's a lot of options. These are not professional quality that's for certain. You get a lot of options though in terms of types of knives, including a set of stea knives, all neatly organized in a decent looking block. You're going to have these for a couple years or as long as 10 years if you want. I am following the recommendations of not leaving them in a sink or wet because that is a shortcut to seeing corrosion/rust. Wash and dry immediately by hand. Not dishwasher or you're going to need a new set fairly soon.

I got the larger, 20 piece set for my son when he set up housekeeping after using the 15 piece set myself. They are high carbon stainless steel, so you should wash and dry them by hand, not dishwasher! They have a heavy, sturdy construction; I can't see one breaking unless grossly abused. I always give a knife a couple swipes in the sharpener before returning to its slot in the block so they are always ready to use.

I've only recently started REALLY cooking so I've been slowly upgrading my kitchen equipment. I love this knife set so far! The handles are comfortable, the built-in blade sharpener is easy to use, and I'm saving so much time preparing my food because I'm no longer using dull knives :). I like that the handles are somewhat heavy - they don't feel cheap at all. But I also appreciate how the pricepoint is very reasonable for the product quality. I'm not sure how it'll last over years but so far I'm very happy with my purchase. Also, the scissors are on the heavier/bulkier side but they cut nicely and it doesn't bother me that they're a bit clunky.

I bought these as a housewarming gift for a friend. I took them out of them out of the box to to check the quality and to see if everything was there. Super sharp right out of the box, have a beautiful design, and seem to be quality made. My initial reaction though was how small and light the knives were. The chef knife is the biggest in terms of handle girth and blade length but still seem to be on the smaller end of kitchen knives. Every other knife handle also feels small in my hand which was interesting because the large scissor handles are huge! (My glove size is medium/large in mens so I have about average hands) Overall, they seem very well made and cut superbly so I'll wait and see what my friend says in terms of the longevity of the product.

My current knife set is ok... same 15 count, however, the wooden base holder leaned out a bit too far. I shopped around for a while, and decided on this one. Wow! it's beautiful with well made knifes, and the wooden base is an awesome color too and the stands is a bit more upright (it's perfect to me) The sharpener is really cool and handy. The knifes all have a really nice and solid weight to them too. For those who like to cook... this set is great!
