I saved over $100 by not buying a new box spring! Lay the boards right on top of the box spring put the mattress down and slept like a baby. Can't feel a thing but comfort no slipping and sliding at all. It even raised the mattress up a few inches which I like. No assembly necessary.

Product: Mayton, 0.75-Inch Vertical Mattress Support Wooden Bunkie Board/Slats with Cover, King, Beige, Regular Size. The slat spacing for the one I received is not 2 3/8 inches like it was claimed to be. It is 3 1/4 inches apart when spaced out. The fabric just makes it look more narrow than it really is. I needed slats that are spaced under 2.5 inches apart due to the customer's mattress requirements. I could not return this product because I had to make the deadline for installing a platform bed frame for the customer. I had to do some modifications for it to be acceptable. ... show more

Beware the Heavy Duty item is just like the regular item. I purchased the Heavy Duty Vertical Mattress Support Wooden Bunkie Board/Slats with Cover and the question was asked by a different amazon customer: Is the height for the regular and heavy duty board still 0.75 inches? Manufacturer replied with: it's a 1". Another similar question was answered by the manufacturer: The heavy duty has thicker pieces of wood. Well, the heavy duty slats I purchased were 3/4" which are just like the regular slats except about $40 cheaper. I measured 1 board and it was 3/4" and measuring all 13 boards, it was 10". I needed the item ASAP so decided to keep the item since it would be a hassle to return such a big item. ... show more
