Our toilet seat has been broken for a while and finally got around to replacing it! Ordered this round seat to replace a kohler brand toilet and it fit like a glove. The chrome hinge was on sale so I went with that even though Im not a fan of chrome. But it actually doesnt look too bad at all. I specifically went with this set up because I dont like the ones that just snap on. This one, the screw attaches to the hinge and screws from the bottom. The wood feels solid and the lid doesnt just slam down. Installation is easy. I would recommend this round toilet seat as a good replacement. ... show more

I am so impressed with the quality of this toilet seat for the price. I was truly not expecting how well this is made. And the ease of putting it on is beyond any other toilet seat we have ever had is sturdy, substantial, and works even better than I thought it would. When I was installing the seat and tightening the nut at the bottom, the bottom piece broke off, and I assumed I had tightened it too much and broke it. However, when I read the instructions further, it explicitly said tighten until the bottom portion snaps off. What a relief! And so when I put the second one on, I knew exactly when it was tightened enough. I can’t say enough about how well this toilet seat is made and how well its functions. Do ! WARNING! Use water and soap or anti-bacterial wipes only... Used a Clorox wet wipe to clean and noticed the finished changed to dull and dingy appearance. Went back and wiped with just wet paper towel and some type of coating wiped right off. I was not sure what was going on so I lightly dragged my fingernail on the finish below and it was also soft and left a visible scratch. A toilet seat that cannot be cleaned with Clorox wipes.. no thanks. Note this is just a couple months old and prior to this we had just surface wiped the seat with sanitizing Wet Wipes (not Clorox wipes). Here is what is on their site and likely on the label, but my fault for not reading. To clean and preserve your seat’s glossy finish, please use either anti-bacterial wipes, dish soap or anti-bacterial hand soap only. Wipe both sides of the cover and both sides of the ring. Thoroughly dry the cover and the ring with paper towel. Please do not use bleach, vinegar, pine or essential oils, chlorine, acid, scouring powders, detergents, disinfectants, or products in aerosol cans. ... show more

Have purchased 2 of these. The paint on the first had imperfections- not smooth everywhere and ended up chipping. That being said, it still did the job for a good amount of time before needing to be replaced. The second one looks perfect and a bit nicer. The hinges aren't real stainless steel, but they clean up easily. Attaches tightly and stays put, still able to remove it fairly easily. It looks really nice- the metallic hinges go with the other brushed stainless-steel fixtures in the bathroom. Slow close lid is a must have. ... show more

This Mayfair Bennet (formerly Bemis? pretty sure) is a metal hinged seat (which is not plastic; the seat is either wood or mdf, not sure but thicker/heavier than plastic) that our household has used for years. First time ordered from Amz. The metal hinges stay put much better than plastic ones, so it's great for the large people in our household that put more wear & tear on it due to weight. If you have large family members, I highly recommend this toilet seat because it will stay put better and last longer than flimsy plastic seats with plastic hinges. ... show more
