I thought that this product would be great, but it was just frustration. I tried lighting them directly...nope. I tried other items to get them to finally light...nope. I threw them away. The box that they came in was better for the smoker than these things.

I typically use dry pine needles in my bee smoker, but that does lead to a number of problems. Including flame-ups and a pretty big mess of burn residue and ash. These smoke pellets are a lot cleaner and easier to work with. Just light the edge and they start to smolder. This really is superior, no flames. They put out a consistent amount of smoke and last long enough to get typical hive maintenance jobs done, 15 to 20 minutes. The description talks about a pleasant smell, but to me it just smells like smoke. When you are done, there is no big mess to deal with.
