I bought this because it was a contemporary design that won't look out of date quickly. I got it as part of my kitchen remodeling project. This fixture is very noticeably brighter than the old florescent of similar size... a benefit I really appreciated! It let's you choose from three different "colors" of white light, cool, warm, or daylight. You do this with switches inside the fixture, before you secure the cover. The cover is easy to install with finger tightening nobs over screws. The best feature in my opinion is that it is dimmable. So you can have it bright while cooking meals and dimmer for creating a more romantic dinner. The dimmable feature allows it to need used in other rooms as well.
