🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The reviews reflect a mixed opinion about the product's durability and functionality. Users appreciate its versatile attachments and performance for heavy-duty tasks around farms or for commercial use. However, several users encountered issues with attachments breaking, poor initial assembly instructions, and the heaviness of the unit making it hard to handle for lighter tasks. Customer service seems responsive, with quick replacements for defective parts.

Pros

  • 🔧 Versatile with multiple attachments for different tasks
  • 💪 Suitable for heavy-duty work, like farm tasks or commercial land clearing
  • 🛠️ Responsive customer service with quick parts replacement
  • 🔋 Powerful motor handles tough jobs well

Cons

  • 🛑 Issues with durability of attachments and the pull start mechanism
  • 📚 Challenging assembly and instructions for novice users
  • ⚖️ Heavy and bulky, which may cause fatigue during extended use
  • ✂️ Some attachments, like the hedge trimmer, perform poorly

Should I Buy It?

If you're in need of a multi-functional tool for heavy-duty work and are willing to overlook some potential durability issues with attachments, this could be a valuable addition to your equipment. The product seems to have excellent customer service to back it up, which mitigates some of the risks associated with these issues. However, if ease of use, weight, and reliability for lighter tasks are your primary concerns, you might want to explore other options.

  • Three Years In, Still Starts On 3rd Pull!
**Shown with my modifications** This thing is A. BEAST. It is NOT a weed whip, it is a full-on brush trimmer. Do not use this if you're a - single mom with a backyard - suburbanite weekend warrior with .15 acre lot This is too much machine for you. For heavy, but non-professional clearing work, it is the deal of a lifetime but, it is friggin heavy! As long as you take care of it though, (mix fuel heavy and use non-ethanol) it starts on the third pull every time. I just got it out of winter storage, fired it right up with the old gas still in it. My modifications include - after market harness and handlebar throttle (huge back-saver!) - Oregon chain for chainsaw attchmt - Chainsaw toothed circular blade for whip head attachment (for cutting cattails underwater) I found I was switching between the fixed blade and weed whip head so much I contacted the manufacturer and they shipped me a second weed whip head so I can swap out without hand tools. The only thing thats broken so far was the weed whip deflector shield, other than that its going strong. And if it breaks, I buy another one and am still under what I would've paid for a similar Husky/Stihl. ... show more

  • ON/OFF switch is in reversed position
I just bought the MAXTRA 5 in 1 pole saw/trimmer on July 22, 2024 and it was delivered several days later. I put it together and fired it up and the motor started on 3 pulls. I used a 50:1 mixture, 92 octane, alcohol free gas from the commercial 1 gallon cans that you buy in the hardware store. So, I knew the mixture and octane were correct. It is more expensive to buy it that way but it just about guarantees that the motor will run perfectly. Alcohol degrades the seals and bushings on the engine. So, it is recommended that alcohol free gas be used to extend the life of the motor. If you live near a marina, they always have alcohol free gas for the boat engines and you can buy it from a pump into your gas can. I used it today, for the first time. I was using the hedge trimmer attachment. The motor started right up on the 3rd or 4th pull. I was trimming a bush and had run the unit for no more than 5 or 6 minutes. Suddenly, there was a loud click and the motor quit. I tried to restart the motor and it wound not start. I pulled that cord at least 50 times. I have 3 other small engine tools so I know how to start an engine when it is hot. I know about flooding, choking, etc. No combination was going to start that engine. I put it down and proceeded to clean up what I had already trimmed. I used my Echo gas blower to finish the cleanup and that was when I noticed a design flaw in the tool. All of my other engines have start/stop slides just like the one on this motor, but with one difference. When the slide is forward on those tools, it is in the run position. You slide it backwards, toward you, to turn the engine off. This slide switch works in the opposite direction. When it is in the back position, that is the run position. You slide it forward to stop the engine. I noted, in the comments about this tool, that some others commented that it was too easy to accidentally turn the motor off. What had happened was that I must have inadvertently pushed the slide forward when I was using the trimmer and that stopped the motor. So, I was pulling on that cord with the slide switch in the OFF position. That slide switch is so close to the hand that you use to operate the throttle that it is very easy to accidentally push that slide forward while you are using the tool, thus stopping the motor. When I set it back to the run position, the motor started right up on the third pull. That slide switch should be reversed so that the RUN position is forward and the STOP position is back. That way, if your hand accidentally hits that switch, it cannot stop the engine. Your hand will push the switch forward and it is already in the RUN position, So, it would be nearly impossible to accidentally shut the motor off. I have NEVER accidentally shut any of my other motors off because the RUN position is FORWARD. You cannot push the switch any further forward, therefore you cannot accidentally stop the motor. This is a design flaw. It seems that it would be very easy to just reverse that switch so that the RUN position is FORWARD and the STOP position is back. My current solution is to tape the switch down in the RUN position with Gorilla tape to prevent it from moving. When I want to stop the motor, I just pull up the tape to slide the switch forward. I don't know how difficult it would be to open up that handle and turn that witch around. I am a kind of a handyman, so, if you could send me detailed instructions on how to open up that handle and reverse that switch, I am sure I could do it. I don't want to attempt it myself because I don't know what is inside that handle. The other option would be to send me a new pole with the switch reversed. I could then just take the old pole off and put the new one on. In addition, I might add that this thing is a beast. It is REALLY heavy. I knew that when I bought it, but it is even heavier than I anticipated. I doubt that women, who generally have less upper body strength than men, could even use this tool. I could only hold it for a minute or two before I had to put it down and recover. Using the harness helps take some of the weight off. However, I found the harness lacking. I bought a different harness that goes over both shoulders. That definitely helps. There were a few other issues. However, when I was contacted by Khloee, their customer service representative, she went far and beyond what I have ever experienced from a customer service representative in resolving the issues. You will never receive this kind of customer service from any other company. I can guarantee that. I would definitely deal with this company again. You will never beat their customer service. Khloee is amazing! Other reviewers have also commented very favorably about their customer service. They were absolutely correct. Khloee even went to the manufacturer to resolve an issue that she did not have an answer for. You can't beat that. Khloee even said that she was passing on my comments about the slide switch to see if the manufacturer could reverse that slide switch in future tools. I would have given this a 5 star rating but for the weight. It really is heavy. However, Khloee said that they put a larger motor on it so that the pole saw could cut through thicker branches with ease. Apparently, that was an issue with a lighter motor. So, the weight is a tradeoff for a more effective tool. ... show more

  • Just read my review and hope it's not updated. UPDATED for a better review!!
With only 15 minutes of weed eating run time and a quick test of the rest, dismiss the 5 star except for a quality feel..... 2 hours later of doing battle with a grab happy 3 year old, I got it assembled. Do a quick once over to check EVERYTHING is tight. If you've tinkered with lawn equipment before, you can get it together, but I'd suggest YouTube (it's generic all brand X that looks the same is the same) for assembly. It feels decent for what it is and seemed to have plenty enough power to make things interesting with all the attachments. If I don't update this, it's well worth the money for what you get. It's a 52cc do it all... so expect the weight and bulk of it, because it's a heavy beast.. Also make sure that you fully connect the attachments and double check that. It's a tad tricky, but nothing you can't get used to.I'll be using it commercially for land clearing jobs, and I do put all my equipment to the test, so if there's no update saying it's junk..... you should probably buy it. 😂 UPDATED 20+ hours of tortur... um.. use for my brush clearing business... yeah well worth it if you can handle it. Broke the guard on the pole saw, super customer service (2 better that I deal with but I deal with them regularly) and super fast parts replacement. Be mindful that it's cheap plastic and they do cut costs on stuff, so don't slam it into things. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE ON OFF BUTTON.... you'll learn yourself to avoid turning it off when using it. It's a little cold natured when starting, but once it fires up... it's a beast with plenty of power. Thought I never used the string head, I'd say invest in a better one right off... then again I do that with name brand ones as well. ... show more
