I avoided these repro carb’s until I couldn’t. I had heard about leaks and other issues. The install was almost too easy maybe because I expected problems. I have the choke to hook up yet when the weather gets cooler but I’ve been driving around and no issues so far.

Over all works great, would have like the vacuum port layout instructions but a easy swap out. Removed new air cleaner mount and replaced with the old one. Also double check Philips head carb screws for tightness. - I used it on a 230 in-line 6 but it was a 67. It worked great after presetting the needle valve to 2 turns, the truck started right up after setting for 25 years. Hooking up the electric choke was as easy as finding a donner 12v wire when key is on. Hope this helps - Don Johnston. ... show more

    • Stopped working just outside the return window.
I read some bad reviews and yes I have the same problem. It worked ok for about 3 weeks. Always idled high but ran fairly smooth. Then it started to die under load, like it was dumping too much fuel. Smelled super rich. It seemed like a deal at about $90.00! But it is junk-don't but!
