Description

Cab size does not matter as long as you have the correct model and bed size. Visualize how MaxMate's Soft Roll-Up cover will be installed and operated. The number of clamps may vary depending on the bed length and vehicle model. Once installed, rolling up the cover tarp only takes seconds. And it will maximize the accessible bed space. Patented spring-action latch mechanism ensures secured and convenient way to store and access your valuable payload in the truck bed. Installation is very easy. Simply secure the side rails with the custom clamps either against the bed rails or utility track and lay out the tarp. Made of 24oz marine grade vinyl with aircraft grade aluminum crossbar for great protection against all weather conditions. Do the alternative brackets for utility track come with the cover? Yes. All the necessary hardware and instructions will come with the cover. If the cover fits the utility track, alternative brackets will come with the cover. Can I go to the car wash with the tonneau cover closed? Automatic car washes with wax treatments are generally not recommended, as the wax can damage the vinyl, and car wash brushes can damage the thread on the cover. Only touchless carwash is recommended & use water and normal soap to clean the cover. Can I close the cover when the tailgate is closed? It is important to latch down the cover before closing the tailgate. Make sure the cover is securely fastened and closed before closing the tailgate to avoid any damage or interference. Why the top of the cover is slightly arched? The middle crossbar of the cover is designed to be slightly curved to prevent water accumulation in the middle. This design ensures that water flows down and prevents pooling in the center of the cover. Where do I put the weather seal strip? You will only need to apply the seal strip on top of the bulkhead/tailgate or anywhere you see there is a gap between the truck bed and the cover. You don't really need it if all four sides are sealed and flush. Why a "soft" roll-up tonneau cover? Years ago I've tried soft Tonneau covers and had good and bad experiences with them. On my last two trucks, I had the hard plastic Tonneau covers. Both styles have their advantages and disadvantages. I decided to go back to the vinyl cover for the ease of being able to roll it up when I needed to put something tall in the bed of the truck. The hard plastic covers are nice, but they are heavier and have to be removed (by two people) if you need to haul a piece of furniture or kitchen appliance, etc. Oh, and then there is the cost. A good hard cover is going to cost much much more. I installed this roll-up cover about a week ago on my 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD SLT with 6.5' bed. First off, it was very easy to install. It only took 30ish minutes and I took my time installing it by myself. The clamps seem strong and they really hold the side rails in place. The vinyl seems to be made of a good sturdy grade material and the built in cross bars are a nice feature. In addition to keeping the cover tight, the cross bars give an added benefit of making it easier to roll the cover up when needed. When rolled back out and latched into place, the cover fits tight and has a nice clean look. The rails all have a foam tape already installed so when you put it on, it's going to keep the rain out. The kit comes with an additional foam tape/seal that I think is for the front rail of the truck bed. But my truck has a plastic bed liner that covers the front bed rail which pretty much makes it the same height as the sides of the bed and I didn't need to use any additional foam weather seal. The kit also came with a tailgate seal, but I haven't installed it yet. The latch system works great and with the tailgate locked, no one is getting in the bed of your truck without cutting the vinyl. The latch system works great and is easy to use. I guess my only complaint is cosmetically, the cover could be a tiny bit bigger (longer/wider) and come out closer to the edge of the bed rails and tailgate. One other suggestion for those of you installing this cover on a late model Sierra/Silverado. These trucks have two odd shaped stake pockets in the rear of the bed rails. I purchased covers for these and snapped them in (see picture) prior to installing the tonneau cover for a cleaner look. Easy to install, but not completely tight at the cab end.

Instructions were good and installation was fairly easy. Took about a half hour. Product quality seems very good. However, I can see a sliver of light at the cab end of the cover, even though that back rail and the side rails are even. If the cover rail had a 1/4” more backing, it would have sealed perfectly. I’ll check for leaks after a rain, and will probably end up having to install weatherstripping under that back rail. ... show more

Easy to install

The install was straightforward and easy to do by myself. One really nice feature is the adjustment at the lock point so it can be tightened as it stretches over time. The aluminum clamps are as sturdy as the ones on more expensive bed covers. Fit perfectly on my 2024 Silverado 2500 with 6’9” bed.

top mounted rails

Everything about this cover seems to work as expected. Installations was straightforward and had decent instructions. Went through some hard rain the other day and the only water in the bed was from gaps in the tailgate, nothing through the cover. The primary reason I went with this particular cover was that the rails are mounted on the top of the bedrail rather than the inside. If you have a large chest toolbox or something mounted near the bedrails, this style gives you the clearance to still use it so I appreciate that this is on the market. I do wish the aluminum clamps were a little slimmer for this same reason, so they wouldn't stick into the bed over 1" but its not a big enough gripe to knock off a star. definitely recommended for the price ... show more
