We bought to install in a real fireplace. We had to build up the bricks to make the opening more narrow to fit it and build a little wood frame inside the fireplace, but it worked. Now we just have to paint the new bricks to match. Nice to use the fireplace without dealing with the burning wood and smoke inside the house. Heat works well in the space too. I purchased one for my bedroom, it works great. Then I purchased a second one for my front room. Unfortunately, I received the second one with the front glass broken out, most likely done during shipping. I notified the manufacture, they wasted no time and send me a replacement immediately. I love the heater, it's the the best buy for the money. But from the pictures on site, I was expecting legs ( free-standing ) 3 options. Loving the remote, yes very easy assembly, great heat output, but still no legs, for freestanding option.

Not a single complaint --does everything it claims. I had a question after we received it and received a reply by email in a few hours. We put this in an IKEA Billy Bookcase Unit that we assembled. The 30" wide fireplace exactly fit in the shelving unit, both width and height. It just rests on the bottom shelf (we stacked 2), and the shelf above holds it in place. We drilled a hole up through the shelf, to plug into the wall socket that was behind the TV. Tender mercies all around! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. UPDATE!! It is cold out where I live and this thing is soooo good!! Still excited about the purchase. Colors still bright. Has a timer and you can adjust the intensity of the heat. Great buy! So glad I made this purchase. There is a QR code in the manual that takes you to a SHORT youtube video that shows you how to assemble based on how you will use the fireplace. Super convenient and easy to follow. The colors are beautiful. And it gives a good look to the area. It was/is sunmer so I have not ised the heater for an extended time; however it heated up quickly and had good output.
