  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and easy to assemble
Style: Low Loft + Slide Color: White
Pros: 1. 90% of the stickers labeling the parts were placed in areas that will be covered when you're done assembling. No need to remove them! 2. All the holes were drilled perfectly straight, so no frustrations aligning things while putting it together 3. The instructions were good at clarifying which screws to use and not to use 4. The packaging was super efficient and individual pieces were carefully wrapped. No shipping damage 5. Overall a very easy experience compared to the blue and yellow brand's flatpack kids loft bed Cons: 1. The ends of the frame are hardest to put together. The vertical slats wobble around, so it's hard to get all the pieces to align and slot into each other. Be careful determining which direction the pieces should fit in this step—the instructions try to clarify this, but they're picture-only, so look until you understand. It can be confusing because despite the pieces being numbered, they don't distinguish between left or right, which actually matters for the headboard and footboard sections. 2. A couple of my pieces came with residual wood glue on them. I got the white frame, so it's not very noticable, but still a little annoying to find. 3. All the materials were very good solid wood, but then they cheaped out on the mattress slats! I don't mind them being made of plywood, but my slats were slightly warped, splintery, and the predrilled holes to secure the slats to the sides of the bedframe had tear out in the top layers of ply. I ended to doing a round of sanding to smooth everything out. I think it'll be fine with our mattress, but the spacing between slats seems a little wide (came with 7 boards), so I would've liked 1 or 2 boards more for extra support. In the end, I think this is a great bed with a couple of assembly gotchas. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great bed
Style: Low Loft + Staircase Color: White
This bed was pretty easy to put together, definitely a two person job! It came quickly as well which was an added bonus. We selected this for the space underneath and the stairs (vs a ladder). It has left us with comfort that our child wont fall as easily if they wake up in the middle off the night to get down. The space underneath has been great for storage and playing with toys. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Build quality and customer support questionable
Style: Low Loft + Staircase Color: White
This bed arrived 5 days late while I was away. I tried to cancel and reorder another but they couldn't cancel it so didn't know whether we were getting it or not. Luckily a neighbour pulled it into cover. When building it a few parts were faulty, the thread inserts weren't stuck into place so the bed would've collapsed. I contacted the company and asked for the parts to be replaced. It took a week to get a response and then 3 weeks to get the part. When it arrived it wasn't exactly the right part so there was an "unfinished" part of the wood showing. I.e. all the external facing parts should be a glossy white but this was a part not intended to be "naked". (I asked for part 20 they shipped part 5). It did the job but ultimately the experience of "buy a bed, build a bed, have a bed" should've been 2-3 days from purchase but it was a month, so not a great experience for me. Bed itself is fine and the wood, metal fittings, and instructions are good quality. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Think twice. Not great for small spaces.
Style: Low Loft + Slide Color: White
Update: I wanted to love this bed, but now I think I might actually regret purchasing it. Including updated photos I just took while my daughter was sleeping, so the lighting is low in those two pics. I wanted to make sure to give it time before reviewing and now that 4 months have passed the time has come. At first, I loved how sturdy it was. Took my partner and me 4 hours to assemble for our daughter. After assembled I realized that the slide came out farther than I expected, and that's when I considered returning it, but the unboxing is such a headache that it'd be near impossible to get everything back in place the way it came. Not to mention the box with all pieces is HEAVY. The main reasons I don't love this bed now are: 1) The slide is too fast and steep. Most slides you see at parks or on playsets are either elevated above the ground at the end, so a child can have that space to use their feet to stop themselves. Or if they're not elevated, then they have a lip that slides out parallel to the ground allowing your kid to have a smooth landing. But does this slide have those things? Nu-uh. It's a steep straight slide that digs RIGHT INTO THE GROUND. So basically when your kids slide down this super fast slide they'll seem like they're about to crash and tumble headfirst. So as you can imagine, that made my big and tall four-year-old a little afraid to use it (and she LOVES slides). The way I slowed it down was by cleaning it with a household Kids N Pets cleaner, but then it was too slow. So I took a little baby oil on a paper towel and rubbed it onto the slide and now it's just the right amount of fast. 2) Within 3 months the second rung on the ladder cracked. Now, the bed says it's rated up to 200 lbs, and the slide 97lbs, so I can only assume that the ladder has the same weight limit in between those ranges and should be able to accommodate my 3'11 kid at 57 lbs. . . but as I mentioned, it has a pressure crack that developed on the far right side of the rung. (I don't have a pic of the crack on hand, but I found one where you can see it in the pic of my daughter circled in red). Again, the design elements of this bed have room for improvement and the rung that developed the crack just so happens to be the one that *isn't* braced with screws. 3) If your room is small, you might really want to reconsider the slide option. As you can see in the pics it takes up a big part of the walkway, but unfortunately, because of the room's layout with the doors, this is the only way the bed can go. In case you're wondering, her room is 11x11 and we thought the slide would not only be fun, but a great addition to help my daughter hurry to the restroom at night when she wakes up. But instead, again because she's scared of how fast it is, she uses the ladder to climb down, which can be tricky when you're sleepy, and so now she's actually said how she wishes she had stairs instead of a ladder - which I initially wanted to buy, but passed up because the stair sets were more expensive, even without the slide. Anyway, after the pressure crack developed we removed the ladder temporarily and rearranged her room using the Ikea Trofast storage system as stairs, and wouldn't you know my daughter was so happy with it. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars My daughter LOVES it.
Style: Low Loft + Staircase Color: White
Our daughter recently made the jump from toddler to twin bed and to say she loves this bed is an understatement. She's 2 ½ and 35in tall and has no trouble getting up and down the steps. The underside is a little shorter than her so it was a learning curve for her not to bonk her head, but she figured it out. I was skeptical at first seeing all the reviews about it being wobbly, but it feels very sturdy to me even without extra boards. I'm currently 8 months pregnant and over 200lbs and I crawl in bed with her with no worries. If you're looking for some extra floor space of have a kid that likes to crawl under the bed this one's great. Highly recommend. ... show more
