There is nothing but positive to be said about these beds. From the beginning, we could tell they were high quality. They were incredibly easy to assemble with great instructions. They were built for years of use with extra long, strong bolts and extra support that we haven’t seen in beds that were much more expensive. Unlike some of the beds we considered, the finish is all white - with no exposed silver bolts taking away from the looks. The wood is solid and both beds include a metal bar to to help stabilize. After weeks of grand children rough-housing we expected we would have to go back and tighten some bolts or that the bed might have some shifting, but there hasn’t been a single shift or wiggle in the beds. ... show more

Well worth the money! It took some time to get started but once I figured out how to get and keep the head and bottom pieces together it finally went quickly. Absolutely love this set of bunk beds! Very solid and safe for my granddaughter. She is still afraid to sleep on top bunk but she plays up there. She still not sure of herself climbing the ladder and back down. Well built and beautiful. Very safe for a child to sleep on top bunk. Well worth the money! ... show more

    • Easy to assemble, quality product

I purchased this bed for my 4 year old daughter as a good transitional bed she can use now and hopefully into her teens. I am skeptical of large pieces of furniture that come in one box and require assembly. The shipping box was sturdy with normal scuffs and wear from shipping. The contents were packed well with pieces being individually wrapped and protected. I ordered the gray finish and all of the parts were well coated and there was no foul off gassing from the parts. The wood is solid pine, which is a soft wood, but all of the components were machined well and fit together great. I had no issues with missing pieces or miss drilled holes, and no alignment issues at all. The hardware supplied was good quality, with the visible bolts powder coated to match the finish. I recommend using slightly longer screws when securing the mattress support slats to the side rails, as the ones supplied were not long enough to bite into the rails. I used wood glue when assembling the vertical slats and end posts for the head and foot board, figured it couldn't hurt. I glued the ladder assembly as well. When screwing down the mattress support slats, I loosened the side rail bolts and used a ratchet strap to pull the rails tight to the end of the slats. The mattress support slats seemed like they were cut a little short, so by using the ratchet strap I was able to pull the side rails tight to the ends of the mattress support slats without marring the finish on the rails. It worked great doing that and using the longer screws that I mentioned. I may add additional slats to the full and twin frames for extra support. Overall I am totally pleased with the end result, quality parts, finish and hardware. The instructions were clear and illustrated parts and hardware well. I had about 3 hrs into the assembly and taking my time with gluing certain parts. Definitely recommend this bed for quality and price. ... show more

    • Good enough for a few years

I did some substantial research looking for a bunkbed for my 5 and 7 year old girls. Reasons I purchased this one was the ability to put a regular sized mattress on the top bunk - many bunks suggest using a thinner than average mattress and we had recently purchased some nice, regular sized mattresses and did not want to add two more to this purchase. That said, we have a standard 8ish inch mattress on the top bunk and it is pretty high (i.e. close to the safety rail). My 7 year old is o.k with this, but for a younger child, I would actually say you should get the slimmer mattress for peace of mind. Building the bed was just o.k. - the instructions are not that clear and you def need two people. The 'frame' for the mattress which is ropes and wood does not fit the full length of the bed like the pictures show in the instructions. I'm not sure what that is all about, but we didn't feel this would compromise the safety or comfort of the bed (but I think poor directions or a faulty product is at play). Once constructed, the bed is not the most sturdy (wobbles when someone uses the ladder), but that's why this is a good bed for now, not forever. I like knowing that once my girls decide they want their own space, we can separate the beds and not have to go buy new twin frames...a big selling point for me. All in all, a nice looking, average quality bunk that will serve it's purpose for a few years and made two little girls very happy. ... show more
