The instructions are not very clear so take your time when putting it together. The trundle does not have the metal support bar that is on each of the other two bunks. I added six additional slats to each bed in order to make it sturdier. It is well made and attractive.

We ordered the full over full with trundle bunk bed set. The set up took a little bit of time about 4 hours but my husband completed it all by himself. My two girls share a room and one is a teen and the other is a pre teen. We love how the beds look and feel. There is a slight jiggle if you move too rough when on the top bunk but that is to be expected. For the price we are happy especially with the third twin size trundle bed for when the girls have a friend over or if their little brother (he is only 4) tries to sleep with his sisters for the night! We got the full-over-full bed with trundle in November and had it professionally assembled through Amazon. From the start, I regretted getting a full-over-full. It was too bulky in the room, and more importantly, I was very nervous about the weight of a full over my three year old. The wood slats that came with our bed did not seem adequate and it bent with every movement. Maybe it was the "professional" assembly job? We'll never know. Now back to the bed. We lived with it for a few months until I just couldn't take the nervousness any time one of my boys climbed on top, not to mention if my husband climbed on to snuggle with a kid. So, I called Max and Lily and voiced my concerns, and asked if there was an option to purchase a twin to go on top of our current full. Nope, that's not what they did. INSTEAD, they sent me out a brand new, upgraded twin-over-full bunk bed from their Jackpot line (which is TWICE AS EXPENSIVE) with no questions asked. Zero dollars extra. Not even shipping. Not kidding. The new bed arrived less than a week later, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. So, while I cannot personally recommend the full over full, I will shout from the rooftops how amazing this company is and how high quality my new twin-over-full is. When I asked the rep why they were so willing to go above and beyond, she just said, "We like to make our customers happy, and we want you to not worry at night. The very first step of the assembly left me in a blind rage. Attempting to follow the directions in sliding all 10 headboard/footboard slats into both cross posts is all but impossible using the given instructions. Each slat and hole are all different sizes - nothing is uniform. I finally had to create my own process for getting these pieces together. Opening the boxes, arranging the hardware and step one of the build took me over 3 hours. Most of the rest of the build is ok, but you will definitely find yourself bending, squatting, reaching, and stretching into some uncomfortable positions attempting to tighten bolts and screw in screws that are quite difficult to access. The slats underneath each bed will absolutely need to be secured with a drill or impact driver, the fact that the instructions indicate this can be done with a simple screwdriver is an absolute joke. So when you are all complete with assembling this behemoth, keep in mind that this is a forever bed. It is not built to be moved or relocated. Where you plop this thing is where it will stay. Hopefully this thing lasts b/c if anything falls apart I am smashing it to bits and chucking it out the window. ... show more

My husband and I took around 2 hours to put together the bunk beds. My husband put together the trundle on his own. No missing parts. There was an odor, so we aired out the room for 3 days. Read many reviews prior to purchase, and I felt the biggest issue was the spacing of the slats. I sent my husband to buy more slats from Home Depot. Also, you need to screw the original slats to the frame at an angle, so my husband pre-drilled holes to prevent splitting the bed-frame wood. We simply stapled our extra slats to the black straps to hold them in place. Refer to my photo. My oldest son (59 lbs) sleeps on the top bunk. My daughter (40 lbs) sleeps on the bottom bunk. My youngest son (35 lbs) sleeps on the trundle. My husband is 175 lbs, and lies on the top bunk all the time. My kids sometimes walk on the trundle to get to their bed. Customer service hands down gets 5 stars! We were missing middle support beam for upper and lower called, filled a short little form out, had a question called she looked it up for me and helped me through it ( needed part number and hubby threw away instructions with that on there) she was so helpful and had Oren right away- and even tho they only sent one of the two I emailed them and they apologized and had the other one in a few days. The entire thing was the best experience with customer service ever!!! Super nice, helpful, and fast with shipping! Onto putting this together: 3/4 stars as I was not the one who put it together I heard lots of swearing out of hubby while he was putting it together. He did not enjoy it and took him a few hours to do so. Some pictures didn’t make sense right away. End result: my girls ( 2 and 4) love it! Well worth it! - also because I didn’t put it together! ... show more
